Whether Nokia will shelve S40 or not is another thing, but what is clear is that there won't be any S40 touch screen phones.

You ppl are all assuming the misconception that nokia as abandoned S40! Well ur wrong! they are just adjusting to the new market demands for more Smartphones hence why the Maemo 5 + 6 tag team with the New Symbian 3 should meet these demands. The Question is can the interface for the new S60 be 'perfect'(tht is no bugs: absolute stability, prestigeous 'iphone-a**-kicking' UI and more responsive touchwise) enough to really impress us... the world is watching for NOKIA 2010!

S40 is direct competition to iPhone. About 50% of the S40 series have better specs & offer much better user experience.

For me, S40 would hold its ground much better if the following features get to be implemented:
                                a) multitasking
                                b) support for MS Office documents

If this won't become a reality, then make S60 more user-friendly.

Dani, 03 Dec 2009Sony Ericsson without a doubt make the BEST non-OS phones! Now SE makes the best non-smart phone. I beg to differ. Please define what do you mean by "best" in this context. I think Nokia is more user friendly than SE. Latest SE's phones seem to have copied Nokia's keypad format whereby the "spacing" used to be on the right & now is in the centre which is more natural just like in PC & laptops.
