AJ_Cos, 17 Jul 2015That's right... every audiophile "dreams" of havi... moreSpecs wise? Yes. Sound wise? nope.
I know it's a two years comment. but really. for a 2015 midrange phone. with TWO HEADPHONE JACKS. (not one. but TWO) DEDICATED slider. and a music launcher. I have that phone as a music player. (iPod if you want to say it like that, that runs android) and I enjoy every moment of it. I DO WISH it had better specs. or a Marhsall London II with flagship and Octa DAC 64 BIT. or something like that.

recreate this phone with Snapdragon 845, 4 GB ram 64 GB storage! I use it as my iPod (music player) and It's a gorgeous one! I do need more oomph for gaming though. ._.)

AnonD-251095, 17 Jul 2015Does it matter when they have the quietest volume output in... moreAnd WHY does Xperia have low volume?? Because they are engineered in Sweden, at Sonys Lund facility. And Sweden is where Marshall accessories and gadgets come from too and this country has a national compulsive obsessive disorder when it comes to protecting people, and especially children, from dangerous things that arent dangerous at all but "just to be on the safe side". TCO monitor specs, which are utterly useless, came from Sweden, they even noted things like "monitors do not give out radiation but we require radiation protection anyway because it is better to have than to not have". This compulsion is MUCH stronger when it comes to protecting kids and teens from hearing damages, even today when we know that ears recover after some hours rest and hearing damage will not occur. Those windable cars we played with when we were kids? Illegal, the spring mechanism must be silenced to a ridiculous loiw level. Still expecting very loud sound from this Marshall anyone? Youre out of luck. Not that it matters, it is never loud enough for Indians.

imparanoic, 17 Jul 2015latency issues are mostly on bloatware Korean phones, some ... more"latency issues are mostly on bloatware Korean phones, some have very few issues and are silky smooth"

Looks like you don't understand what latency means in this context. We are now talking about latency for musicians, means the delay for example between when you press synth keyboard and really hear the sound. The latency has to be very very low to be useful. Android has and had many years huge latency problems thats why almost all music gadgets and apps are for iOS.

I had iphone 4s and the sound quality was just incredible, later I bought an iphone 6 and the sound quality is a disasterously bad,at first I ended up buying back my old 4s from the person I sold it, and on comparison the DAC of 4s is from another level. But because 4s could and other iphones are wuite bad for tethering I had sell it again.. so I will most probably find myself giving the Marshall a chance, not to mention thatI am playing guitar and everything that says Marshall on it is half sold to me and other metalheads. So Marshall is definately on right track here.

Dedicated music keys would have been a nice addition. I would like to see that on a phone and I would take that over the dedicated DAC if the price is cut down too. I can't wait for someone to give us a review and compare the sound of London to that of the Z3 and Z3 compact. This capability of playing "Hi-res" audio is something every phone will do in the upcoming years. My piece of advice would be not to buy.

Nice first attempt marshall! I wouldn't say it was low spec- the qualcomm snapdragon 410 is a 1.4ghz quad core, and the specs do look on par (whats put here anyway) with the iphone 6 so I think it's a decent phone really

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2015dude, xperia phones already support FLAC and ALACXperia smartphones (at least Xperia series newer than 2011) are well known for low power audio output and have pretty high output impedance, a bad combination.

Great differentiation product for Android. They just need a camera king too! But this Marshall is something I would consider buying if it were widely available.

the battery is not good for a wolfson dac or playing lossless, something like 4000mah could do better.
