Anonymous, 20 Jul 2015There is still this thing we called wireless usb stick if y... moreSandisk Wireless Stick:
    "$99.99" for the 128 GB.

This is is mainly for the iPhone users, until Samsung decides to eliminate the micro SD card. This is another POOR implementation to compensate the very simple sliding in a 128 GB card, and you can enjoy the media stored as long as your battery can last. In fact, your battery would envent be shorter if you are to wirelessly stream content all the time. More reasons to carry the power bank. You'd need at least some 10,000mAh type.

Just look at this absurdity and illogical thinking of what manufacturers against what should be a more practical way of operating device:

    1. "Wow, they made the device 1mm thinner. Amazing!" You end up with a device that is more fragile - case and point the iPhone 6 Plus.
    2. "No more ugly removable plastic back, now glass." You increased the chances of breaking your device by accidental drops by 100%. You are forced to getting that cover to thicken that "thin" device.
    3. "Fast charging and wireless charging will be great implementations". You increase ruining your battery by another 100%, as more heat are generated from these methods of charging.
4." There's no need for micro SD card, there's cloud storage". Geez, unless you have paid for cloud storage of at least 100 GB, and AFFORD to have VERY fast service speeds, this is a frustrating way to access your files.
    5. And finally your mantra "I use 128 GB wireless stick, this is 2015". Limted to enjoying you media to up to 4.5 hours at a time, or having to keep copying and waiting to transfer files every now and then. Waste of time, and waste of your power. Yeah, keep carrying that power bank is really important now, in 2015.

While some of us change batteries to 100% in just over a minute (you 2015 user wait about an hour to charge), and use an encrypted 128GB memory expansion for personal stock consumption (you 2015 user need to turn on your hotspot or connect to a wifi server to enjoy only up to 4.5 hours of your NOT ENCRYPTED files via your "wireles media stick"). Yes, what an impressive system you use.

I use that and no problem at all. It is a 128gb usb stick for god sake! Plus, I don't even need to plug it in like OTG. You guys should read more tech site before complaining. We are living in 2015 people! Our tech is good enough to make the impossible possible. Even powerbank are made with wireless charging capability these day.

Yeah having at least two batteries is a must when working all day long !
Can't be a real Note phablet if it does not have a removable battery !
Power banks are nice but you need a bag to carry them, they are too bulky to be brought along when you are travelling light !

I happen to have an authentic Xiaomi 10400mAh power bank given to me last Christmas. The most useful thing I use it for is to charge my extra battery on the go when I carry a bag. It turns off automatically after it detects a full charge. I don't carry a bag daily. More choices make any device more useful and versatile - why don't you want that? Oh, that's right - you think carrying power banks are cool - like the rest of the Apple user population.

Yeah, do get that wifi HDD - it can go only 100mbps, lasts 4 hours and breaks when you drop it. Micro SD cards can do over 100mbps now.

out of eggz, 18 Jul 2015I think the A series, S6(+edge) and all other sealed batter... more I suppose you are right. The vast majority of people want a phone that works for everday things. They are no developers, geeks, tech freaks etc.
Those people, incl. data horders and battery swappers (what happened to the use of packs? are they too expensive for battery swappers?) need to go somewhere else, good bye. Your Samsung time is past tense.

out of eggz, 18 Jul 2015I think the A series, S6(+edge) and all other sealed batter... moreA full charge could probably give you up to 5 hours of screen on time with the current Note and not just watching video. Jobs wanted no one messing with the insides of his hardware. He made it very hard for anyone opening Apple devices. Plus lowering cost to manufacturing and the fact that he knew batteries will eventually die and make you buy the latest stuff down the line. Updates will also make your devices obsolete to the point it makes you say you need a new one. This is the marketing Samsung is now following - making you want to buy a new phone every year since it's becoming slow and had a shower battery life.

Anonymous, 18 Jul 2015Really good. Smartphone now are comparable to our laptops a... moreThe idea is mobility and efficiency - you should not need to carry a "wireless 128 GB memory stick" to carry data. I think you're thinking of the wireless HDDs that can go up to 2 TB of data storage. They only have power of up to 4 hours independently or else you need it plugged in - another reason why you'd still need to carry chargers... yeah, what a modern thing to be doing.

Meantime, the rest of us with still terrible network speeds enjoy some 100GB+ of storage with micro SD cards for our media. Yeah, wireless charging requires you having a WIRED charging pad CONNECTED to a power wall outlet. Trust me, I tried wireless charging for two months, and it is slow as 4 hours to fully charge and adds more heat to you device. Heat is the number one enemy of the battery.

It's backward thinking people like you that's driving the market - consumers who are easily dazzled with buzz words. You don't know what you're getting at all, do you?

out of eggz, 18 Jul 2015this swollen battery your talking about only happened to me... moreIt's not being lucky with the battery not bulging. Prolonged, unnecessary charging would just do that, and the in some cases, violently can explode. This is why I even invested in a mechanical timer for charging my batteries at home - 2 hours and it switches off. I did my research, and you're suppose to maintain your charge between 40 to 80% if you still want to increase your battery cycles close to a thousand cycles, and not a mere 300+. This is also what I do with my laptop's battery usage with timer setting the charge to turn off after 1.5 hours, and charges 2 hours after - this maintains the 40 to 80% charge range. I know it's a hassle, but I'd like my powerful devices to last longer and be efficient in getting the amount spent well worth it. I don't have umlimited resources to keep buying updated gadgets every year.

I don't believe in fast chaqrging either, as this really ruins the battery even faster. It does bring convenience of charging 100% like in an hour but with a price. This is all because the lithium-ion battery technology has not improved or changed so much in the years as we have more demanding devices, and we still use the same system to power them up. And the worse this is we are letting vanity drive the market with fixed battery so that we get "20% thinner than last year's model". It's backward thinking when you come up with a device less practical so it looks better because it's 1mm thinner than last time.

I think the A series, S6(+edge) and all other sealed battery phones are targeted at people who don't use their phones heavily. iPh territory I suppose :). no iPh has replaceable battery and just look at their sales and do the math. also there are statistics for people who do exchange batteries and their number is very low - only the "power users".
I would gladly give up on my replaceable battery if my phone gave me 12h of battery "no matter what" - there is no samsung phone on the market that gives this that I know of. I'm talking 100% screen on time on heavy processing apps/games.

didn't happen to any of the Samsung phones I owned, not after 2.5 years of use and not after 5-6 either (other phone). battery issues are luck based solely also, so I was just lucky :). I agree with the sealed battery possible issues but I don't really care since I don't plan on using another phone for more than 1 - 1.5 years. also, I see a lot of people using iPh4-5 and even though their battery life wasn't very good to begin with, I never heard of this issue. I do love the ability to change my battery when it runs out for an instant 100% though, hope N5 will still have this
