Ubik Uno smartphone goes official, heads to Kickstarter

A piece of junk, 7 months delayed, still no phone. Never a response from creator, promised a refund policy and six months after that they were playing around with their wording. Don't even mention about build quality, fix the back light leak and then talk about making a smartphone. I am done with this company and Kickstarter.

OK I received the phone. It's a ho-hum phone. There is nothing special about it. The One Plus One, the original, still beats it by a margin for built quality at least. Holding this ubik, it feels flimsy, and not well done. the screen light is seen through the back from the sides, as if the back is not flush with the sides. Odd.
Now the hardware and software are nothing to write home about. It is just a regular Android phone. for the price, yeah right but again the Oppo R7 and One Plus are much better options.

They don't have the FCC certification, and it could be months before they have it. Even if you try to buy it on their main website, you won't receive it. For some general information, the parent company of the Ubik Uno is the Vitsmo. Go on the Vitsmo website and tell me if you see any differences with the Ubik Uno.

SrB, 11 Dec 2015Please give us a reason for your comment.I bought it on Kickstarter and there's no communication between Ubik and the backers. Last update was posted a month ago. They lied about the fact that the production was doing great, when in fact it has taken a month to be ready for production. They have no FCC approval, and don't want to answer those relative questions. Did I try to contact them via their customer e-mail? Yes, and I never had any answer since my last e-mail...in october!! They first said that the phone will be shipped in september, then it was for october, and now it's supposed to be for december. I'm pretty sure it will not hit the market in any near future. They want to build a company based on the "community" factor, but what's the point if there's no communication whatsoever Fortunately my Credit card company accepted to make me a refund, but don't fall into this trap. A lot of us, backers felt for it. Don't make the same mistake I did, don't buy this phone.

What a JOKE!! WARNING: Do Not Order This Phone !!!!!
Their Customer Service is NON EXISTENT And they took my money on the pre sell and all the BACKER IN KICKSTARTER ARE 2 MONTHS OVERDUE.
Read the comments, we are all PISSED!
The Company is suffereing from MAJOR CHARGEBACKS and they have taken my $315 and ran.
Don't believe the hype people, this is just another Korean Company Buying parts from China with ZERO Customer Support. Do you really want that?

This is the worst, "could have been great" phone to hit the market. I ordered the phone and they couldn't tell me when it would ship, they surprised me with a charge on my card and worst of all the answers they gave were ridiculous: Stuff like "I told you so"

This requires a great deal of faith, I have seen so many great ideas coming to nothing or just not doing what they should. I think I will wait until its available and get a hands on. It looks great but like the Galaxy edge difficult to use by design.

Li Chang, 21 Jul 2015It is NOT bezel-less, there are massive bezels on the top a... morea true bezel less phone (no top or bottom bezels) would really be uncomfortable to handle, there was a Sony android smartphone a few year ago with 6/7 mm bezel at the bottom with 3 navigation buttons, it was really uncomfortable to press the button. Lots of chances to drop the phone while pressing those buttons.
