In 50 years, thanks to phone manufactures, human race will have twice longer fingers and bigger palms. Kudos to such evolution (I am f***** pissed holding my original moto X with super normal size).

Moto X Style at $399 and Moto X Play at $299. Merely a $100 differences. Most would just go with Moto X Style with that considerably minor difference. Or they could pick up a Oneplus 2 at $329 with better specs.

              DPReivew:

DxOMark ranks the camera second only to the Galaxy S6 (putting it tied with the Note 4 and ahead of the iPhone 6).

Motorola Moto X Play will give One Plus a serious problem with that price. This phone looks like a winner. Well done Motorola.

kenosis, 28 Jul 2015Agree! I was hoping for 5" or 5.2"the body ratio of moto x play and moto g (3rd gen) is almost same just off by 4-5 mm...

Daaaaaang! OnePlus just got some serious competition! I can't decide between the two...honestly, if there was a front flash on the MXP, I would be on it in a heartbeat! I'm seriously considering not getting the OP2 now...

I expect to see the 2nd iteration of the moto 3rd generation (should there be one) with an octacore SD415 or 425 in 6 months time. According to Qualcomm these SoC should be available to manufacturers in the 2nd half of 2015. I will buy it if it comes out with either of those chipset.

Moto X Play is perfectly balanced. Having used HTC One m7, I believe SD6xx and 2 GB RAM are adequate to power a 1080p panel. I'm expecting 7 hrs of screen on time. They have corrected the two biggest flaws of Moto X 2nd gen, Battery and Camera. Count me in Moto.

tobi, 28 Jul 2015too thick, too big, too heavy, no opton for me....a pityAgree, even if the body to screen ratio is quite good (the Moto X Style in particular), the thickness of all the new smartphones announced by Motorola is just unacceptable for today' standards.
The Moto X Play should have a screen no bigger than 5.2".
Of course is a matter of preferences but I am sure that the upcoming low sales will give us the reason and confirm Motorola mistake.
