Funnily, the same mobile phones which produce visibly noisy images in daylight happen to have this image sensor! (at base ISO)
In all cases, requesting a higher ISO light sensitivity does increase exposure time as well. I am not sure whether it is because of camera software (same with OpenCamera, which is third-party), or the sensor itself. Maybe Samsung trying to camouflage the excessive noise at higher light sensitivities, regarding that base ISO already produces visible noise.
One phone with this image sensor which happens to have been reviewed by GSM Arena is the Doogee Mix. And its camera? Abysmal. As expected.
I dare to call this the worst mobile phone rear camera image sensor of 2015. This is the only image sensor I know of that produces noisy images in perfect daylight. Even the Galaxy S2 makes noise-free photos in dayligjt.
"iSOCELL" is a meaningless marketing twem, for that matter.

Like their Isocell tech, filters, and every aspect of the sensor that counts in. And that they will be using at least the F1.9 aperture, if not moved up to 1.8

There is no way this sensor is "on a par" with previous ones. Smaller pixels on sensors capture less light, reproduce color worse, and create more noise. This is a reality of the physics of how light works. Samsung did not change the laws of physics, all they did is make a smaller 16MP sensor, but it will be crappier. GSMArena knows better.

Just like when LG tried to showcase a duel edged phone....But who actually was ready to release one for real?
Or back when Sony tried to announce the World's first 12MP phone. Samsung actually had one ready for release first. And it took better photos.
As far as I saw the Omnivision sensor is not ready until Q3 of 2015

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2015DSLR will do it under 1 sec. My Canon 550D (old-ish midrange) DSLR with a non-ultrasonic lens needs about 1-2 seconds to take a picture, depending on where the focus was when you last used it. So yeah. With an ultrasonic series lens it'd focus even faster.
That's from standby mode, and it only involves pressing one button. Most smartphones have to be woken from standby, and then you have to click on the camera shortcut and then wait for it to launch, then focus. The situation is not really better with Sony phones and their dedicated shutter key - you have to press it for ~3 seconds to launch and shoot the camera - that's only to trigger, you have to add camera loading time to that.
The only disadvantage of an SLR is that it's bigger than a smartphone (and well, that it's not a smartphone). It's by no means slower to shoot a picture with one. If you want quality photos and know how to use it, it's (D)SLR hands down.

(this if you launch it from the lock screen, which you dont have all the features).

Camera user knows that bigger image sensor is better. They need to put f/0.4 to make this work like a high quality dslr camera or otherwise. Nokia pureview 808 by far is admitedly the best smartphone camera.
