Omnivison announced its 1um pixel sensor 5 months ago. It's a shame Samsung takes all the credits.

same quality camera is not what I expected. at least better... now just memory fail and its completely fail...

I would take a bump with 19Mp. but great approach like in 1020, but less pixels and less noise. Shame that others got 20Mp and more will come. will probably wait till end year..

The One that failed dramatically with its 4mp camera, so hard they had it renamed in all the shops to "HMP" camera not to show their fail of "4mp" compared to "13mp" in a cheaper phone from same HTC right next to it?

Apple didn't choose to go for bigger pixel size. They just chose to use a cheaper sensor, that is all. Without Steve, Apple hasn't made anything impressive so far. This is my personal opinion.

So basically they'll be able to release low dynamic range sensors with much noise in low light.

To achieve good photo quality, especially in low light, you have to do the contrary - increase the pixel size, like for example Apple did in the iPhone, where they have 1.5 um pixels.

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2015Samsung still produce sensor but most new product as S6 or ... moreSamsung image sensor is called ISOCELL sensor. The Sony sensor is used in most Samsung smartphone due to low production capacity of ISOCELL sensor. Only a few of Galaxy S6 are using isocell sensor. You can check samsung camera sensor by using this code: *#34971539#

That's pretty impressive. I wouldve thought reducing pixel sizes would negatively affect image quality, so definitely hyped for this. Cant wait to see real world usage though.

Is that sony's sensor better samsung sensor? Sensor is key point to evalution camera phone good or not? I think sensor camera from sony is better.
