been with Samsung since 07, but disappointing set of upgrades for the NOTE-5; certainly not enough to combat rivals. No SD makes me shop elsewhere - DUMBASS'S!

AnonD-65788, 02 Aug 2015I'll never buy a phone with SD card, what's the use of havi... moreYou have a strange way of thinking. You mention concerning of access to private data but not the ability to not lose these data.
For me, the most important is not to lose data I have on the phone. And a SD card is much more reliable : if you have a problem with the phone, with a SD card, you will not lose your data. Furthermore, it is much more easy to backup on a computer the content of your SD card than the content of phone's partition (how many more times the backup of internal partition of smartphone is not possible or interrupt at the first but repetitive error !). And with SD card, you can use letters for partitions, having easy ways of transfer, and being able to use all software you want to automate and secure transfer.
And with a SD card, if you have a problem with your phone, you can instantly recover all backuped data on a another phone (if like me, you have automatics daily backups).
You have 10000 more chances to lose your phone data than to have these data hacked. So your reasoning is very strange and inadequate.
SD card is not only more secure for the durability of your data, and more convenient, it is something you buy one time, and you will not lose it when you change smartphone.

Makes 0 sense to release another one instead of having something for everyone - S6 for fa(shio)n-boys and Note for power/practical users. Duh.

This is so boring... so basically samsung is going to release two more phones with the exact same specs as the s6? but bigger with a curve and one with a stylus? I'm so disappointed.

madness.. Strong points in the galaxy s/note lines (pre 2015): micro sd support, removabla battery, excellent hardware. Not so great: bloatware which slows down the phone.
So.. some smart asses in Samsung decided that they will get rid of 2 of their distinct advantages.. I bought all note 1 to 4, but I am not buying 5, that is for sure.

Motorola X Style is going to Very Popular now more than the Note 5,as its offers the Micro Sd card slot,an might have a better camera than the Note 5,just because there supplying for Apple again Samsung just want to copy the iPhones, which is a very big mistake to be made by Samsung,Apple will be loving this news ,Samsung is going to lose a lot of phone users away from there phones since there Project-Zero

Seriously Samsung! you Turn the New Note ( the BEST smartphone in its series ) into another IPHONE 6 Pluse ! Why don't you just place MicroSD and make us choose if we want to use it or not ( Android freedom of choice ). MicorSD never lag my NOTE 2/3 and millions never complaind about it.
So sad to see my favorite Mobile turns into another Apple Gadget with Samsung logo on it!

AnonD-418132, 02 Aug 2015100% agreed. 100% shills or 100% brainwashed. Encryption? Wait, you do remember there is internal storage too with sd card, right? who sais files you need encripted should be on the sd card? Oh that's right. Shills and fan-boys who will say anything to justify another blatant move (And even delude themselves that move is an advantage and makes the device better..lol) by another extremely greedy and bold corporation.

I've said it before, if it doesn't have a microsd, I won't buy. If it has 32gb and no microsd, R.I.P Samsung. The bs excuse that phones now have more space and therefore don't need storage expansion is ridiculous. PC hard drives are now up to 8tb (10tb if price is no object for you) but computer towers still have anywhere from 6 to 12 hard drive slots, usually at least 10 USB ports, 2 or 3 large (Blu-ray size) drive bays and even tho floppy disks are dead at least one external 3.5 in bay. You want to know why? People don't like to be limited! They are all for expansion! All those options allow for a pc to theoretically be expanded to over 200TB, but hard drive tech is still advancing because people will always need more! Even if the Note 5 comes with 128gb, who cares? With my 200gb SanDisk microsd and the original 32gb, my Note 3 technically has 232gb. Hell, a phone that size should have 2 or 3 microsd slots not zero. Imagine a Note phone capable of being expanded by 600gb or more. If Google doesn't want to support it, fine; if Samsung is smart, they'll write the code to support it and be the only ones that do and corner the market.
On a slightly different note, has Samsung completely lost their minds? USB 2.0, in 2015? 4k video transfer to pc at 2.0 speeds... well you should probably go watch TV or something while you wait because with 4k videos taking up around 350mb per minute, it's going to take forever to transfer to a pc (30 minutes = more than 10gb... Still think 128gb is enough? Hardly! 32gb? Give me a break). No thanks, I'll stick with my Note 3's far superior USB 3.0.
As far as age, well, there are a grand total of zero apps that the Note 3 can't handle. There aren't even any apps that come near its limits. As such, I am in no rush to upgrade and with all of this crap coming from Samsung since the release of the S6, I no longer have brand loyalty. Samsung turned their back on the consumer when they started releasing flagships with inferior specs. Give us USB 3.1c, at least one microsd slot and 256gb on board and then I'll be back. Until then, enjoy losing customers & money!
