GPU not so powerful, Mali T880 create 28.9gflops per core, so if four core is 28.9 x 4 = 115.6gflops. Exynos 5430 with Mali T628 MP6 can doing 115.2gflops.

The processor race seems to become more pointless. Mobile are powerful enough already . They need to look for other areas for some functionality improvement.
A race for better battery life would be really good. Companies should increase their battery research budget at-least a 100 times.
Hope sometime in the near future, phones come with a week or a month battery-life rather than a day.

AnonD-401277, 04 Aug 2015still don't get why they're pushing more cores than are eve... moreTO be frank the megapixel race has a pont its not just about the image quality for a normal display you also have to account the Zoom effect and how the pixels help in that field instead of just the raw foottage.

This one well im not sure how this race is helpfull to anyone.

still don't get why they're pushing more cores than are even pushed on the desktop. it's the megapixel race all over again.

I'm still wondering what sense does it make to pack 3 different sets of A53 cores, that differ only on clock. WHY CAN'T THEY VARY THE CLOCK AND THAT'S IT!

I really can't see a reason for this. If it's voltage, then well, my PC does this all the time automatically, I see no reason why on the fly voltage control wouldn't be implemented on a phone (and as far as I know it is so...)

False Info, Manufacturing process of snapdragon 810 is 20nm where as 820 is 14nm which is being manufactured with the help of samsung. But really this Helio X30 is much impressive than i thought.

If I counted correctly that would sum to 12-cores (i.e. dodeca-core). Please verify as that would be a totally different story. Right?

I'v done some googleing and most specialized websites say that the SnapDragon 820 ditched the 20 nm architecture and the samples sent to OEMs are in 14 nm process.

"The Helio X30 will be manufactured on a 16nm FinFet process, which is better than Snapdragon 820's 20nm process, but slightly behind Samsung's 14nm FinFet process for the Exynos 7420"
                            !!!!!!!!!!! what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the nm only indicates the size of a single transistor & nothing else, we should look in benchmarks to see which one performs better not just look at the size of their transistors- the smaller they are the less heat they create & less power they consume in general but that shows nothing about their performance still,

only disadvantage of mediatek is the number of GPU cores in all the chipsets.
if they include some more cores for example min of mp6 mali T720,T760 or in news Helios 6,8 cores mtk will beat all others brands of chipsets
