Anonymous, 06 Aug 2015Hahahahahahha... Exynos chip overheat....... hahahaha.. Hav... moreThe Exynos chip most certainly can get quite hot still. Most high end chips do. And then the low end ones are still on larger sized wafers and under stress still over heat as well.

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2015You obviously have zero clue of what you are talking about.... moreQualcomm does well with their custom chips. Though always a bit more on the throttle side.
Also what you say about Quad HD displays is foolish and no different from what people have said before you about 1080p and even 720p. Just like the resolution bumps before it, the first few iterations may have been more power hungry....But when the tech has been out for over a year now giving manufacturers endless amounts of time to advance the tech and optimize it......
How is it a power hog? Unless you are saying we should all just revert to 144p screens.
Yes it takes more GPU, but the latest set of SoC's are more powerful and efficient. Except for the S810, but that is not a normal case. And Samsung's QHD displays are more power efficient than 720p displays.
And Exynos except for about 2 generations was always ahead...Whether you like it or not.

snapdragon user, 06 Aug 2015well in fact i have been a fan of snap dragon processors si... moreYou obviously have zero clue of what you are talking about.
First of all 2K is one tiny hair above 1080p. It would be more like 1.9K. 2.5K is in fact Quad HD.
Second big little is not a bad thing by any means. And a set of custom cores in that configuration on a 14nm SoC obviously does extremely well.
Though I do agree with Qualcomm

lg g2 user , 06 Aug 2015finally some one wich i can call sense guy...that is right ... moreWith my Note 2 I watched music videos off the SD card for an hour and only lost about 8% battery. Many 720p and at full brightness wtih MX player.
Galaxy devices worse? LOL. They are always among the better in battery life.

exynos provide much better performance and battery efficiency... heating problem was in exynos 3000 series...

anonymous, 05 Aug 2015note 4 with snapdragon 805 does not heat up even while play... morefinally some one wich i can call sense guy...that is right my friend if less ram and power is in use of course that battery and overall performace will work better...less heating and better numbers / frames on ur games .. i use my lg g2 every day with no problems and battery last really really long.... if i charge it today 700 pm and check it tomorrow morning 700 am i can tell u still will keep 100 percent...many other phones fails to do so.....besides if u watch a 23-26 min video on it will discharge only 3 percent well for me is amazing coming from a moto g second gen wich used to take more numbers while playing same video... galaxy devices has even worst.... sony phones has good battery too. but keep in mind that 1 task is btter performance.

well in fact i have been a fan of snap dragon processors since they came out,the fact is that they provide good balace between battery and performance ,well 808 - 810 those are class apart since these were not customer cores like others as 800-805 and a few older ones ... im currently using a sd 800 on my lg g2 and i can tell u im not moving from this device it might be old for most of u but for me really not...im having good battery and performace wiich is the perfect balance...1080 p is excellent i dont need hungry 2k or over atleast for now while sd820 is not out....sd820 surely will bring those days back with customer cores the phone doesnt need that crap about bigh little...that system ius power hungry...performance is downgraded in order to address overheating issues...u have to under stand that is point less if a soc is capable of 2gz for example and being throttle to 1.6....8 cores or above vess much more battery and i wonder if all of them are being used in a hard core game ..u battery will die in an instant...custom cores provided good balance so yeah qualcom bring back sd800 glory as u are the best.... sorry for exynos wich is no bad but kills the battery faster than qualcom

ithehappy, 05 Aug 2015another frying pan?Far from it, do you have any clue about cpu architecture, this new Silicon will run on 16nm or 14nm which significantly reduces the heat of the silicone, it's a completely new design with a new fabrication process.

Not at all,
Increasing GPU power won't raise prices as much as you tought.
If it so was, Intel couldn't use PowerVR G6430 on a midrange class SoC, that GPU can easy beat Adreno 330 and in some cases also Adreno 420.
It is because Qualcomm doesn't want to let Mid-range SoC's close to Hi-Level devices, not only Qualcomm also MediaTek and others.
And Budget phones are not Low range they are Entry level and it doesn't affect them too much.
There are many cheap SoCs for thoose phones/tablets.

I just went to grab one of the MANY videos I saw that showed the Note 4 overheating, but the first one that came up turned out to be a video explaining that the reason it was always overheating was the recording software that it was also running, which would probably account for most of the other instances I've seen of them overheating. My apologies, I might have to take another look at the Samsung line.
