The Samsung Pro series can give you 70mb/s, than 40+ MB/S of the class 10 "cheapskate" regular stuff. Other brands offer higher speeds. Are you complaining how "expensive" is $20 for the 64GB Samsung Pro?
Micro SD card slots give an option. You can go pay $100-$200 more for each 32-64GB tier versions of the device. That's 500 to 1000% more of additional cost than to buy a pro micro SD card.
Plus the 128GB now cost $75. Are you complaining for that too? Because it adds lag? Then learn to switch your camera settings to save on your internal memory. Still complaining? You have an option not to use a memory expansion. Geez.

Reports from Middle East regarding the Note 5 that it was powered by Exynos 7422, 4100mAh battery and support up to 128GB SD card slot while the S6 edge+ spec are still the same.

TheNeighbor, 08 Aug 2015Micro SD cards can now read/write some 100MB/s. Which microsd card is that? As far as I know the higher the class of sd card the more expensive it will be. For that reason most people will go for the cheap lower class sd card. And this cheapskate user that bought phone with UFS 2.0 will start complaining their phone lag and hang. That is why Samsung get rid of the sd slot. They know their customer won't spend another penny of a super expensive sd card to match their new UFS sd card. Customers even think that Samsung Galaxy devices are already expensive overpriced. What make you think they would spend more for the high speed sd card.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2015I have 2 of f*cking 64 gb UHS 1 class 3 microSD cards and t... moreUHS 1 Class 3 is a joke compare to Samsung UFS 2.0. UHS 1 Class 3 write speed is only 30MB/s while Samsung UFS 2.0 write speed can reach 150MB/s. Your 6gb in 8 minutes seem like forever for Galaxy S6 users.

I don't care about some dual-sim note 5 that will never come to North America having a micro-sd.
If the Note 5 that is sold in North America does not have micro-sd, there is no chance in hell I will be buying that phone. If I wanted a freaking fashion accessory I would buy the edge crap or the iphone even. I want a phone that is designed for serious usage.

As someone who works retail and got a visit from a samsung rep today..this Note 5 WILL NOT have a micro sd card slot at all. Its gonna be like the S6. No removable battery or back. And edge version will come in 32gb 64gb and 128gb. Reg version only in 32gb.

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2015You see, how bastard Shammy is. It is very well possible t... moreNo... If you buy a micro sd card you will most likely by the cheapest one that have horrible read and write speeds. Doing that will make you feel like your phone is slow so samsung puts a internal memory chip with higher read and write speeds so everything happens faster and keeps up to speed with their OS.

Even better you can get the N910C, the international version with Exynos and Wolfson discrete DAC chip. The phone has well developed community of XDA with custom kernels and ROMs. The N910C supports ATT LTE bands.
