Failed to miss 'monthly SECURITY updates'? When did 'security updates/fixes/patches' ever become identical to Android updates? They may be at times synonymous but technically isn't

All MAJOR OEMs must join. We need secured phones.

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2015Windows 10 mobile will get updates directly from Microsoft. Same... moreIt's nice to know the "telemetry" (wink, wink) is coming from Microsoft itself, not some other bastards who would also install keyloggers into your OS (oh wait...)

Teran, 09 Aug 2015When samsung fails to update their phones to the latest android ... moreDamn, Sony already has Android 5.5.1!?
Couldn't they, by any chance, share it with Google?

All Android phones are buggy as hell because OEMs take forever to do updates. Their bloatwares just add more bugs to the OS. OEMs should not be adding spywares and bloatwares to an OS.

Of course, only for the newer devices, high end or top tier ones, the rest they WON'T CARE LIKE ALWAYS.

Interesting.
"LG spokesperson confirmed to Wired that the company will be providing security updates on a monthly basis, which carriers will then release to users immediately."

What are they actually saying?
Will they release updates for all of their devices or just a few that are running the latest version of Android?
I.E. Will the supply updates for
4.3
4.4
5.0
5.1
Or what?
Android patches and updates == PITA, great work Google

So.. the perfect conclution for all comments here is:

"Buy wp and ios devices next time, and you will always get os updates. Dont buy droid anymore"

Morfeas, 09 Aug 2015Lg has still left its lg g3 with 5.0.1 and many many bugs and it... moretrust me 5.1.1 is not so great either. if i wouldnt be that lazy i would downgrade to 4.4.4

it was the most stable android ever. since i am using lollipop i am not happy at all. i am a user of nexus 5, and i bought it just because i could get os updates immediately after its release. even i consider to give a try to windows or ios devices.

  • AnonD-381362

The security updates only takes a few days to make for each device and can release it in 5-15 days for all phones

  • Aigarslv

Samsung cannot even release new mid-rangers with Lollipop how can they release security updates monthly... What a joke. Problem is that Sammy is spitting out more phones than their software integrators can handle...

Lg has still left its lg g3 with 5.0.1 and many many bugs and its last year lg g flex with 4.4.4 so.... Whatever....

Teran, 09 Aug 2015When samsung fails to update their phones to the latest android ... moreHTC updating their phones regularly? You have to be kidding me

  • Teran

When samsung fails to update their phones to the latest android version, while HTC, Sony and apple keeps even their midrange or older models upto date (presently 5.5.1 with androids) . What guarantee for we have for security updates ?. I use aan A5 cause I like it's design and size compared to the flagships (overpriced phone for its spec). Still with kit kat. No sign of 5.0.2 . Samsung is a big disappointment in the updates department.

Windows 10 mobile will get updates directly from Microsoft. Same thing Apple is doing.

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2015and this is why i don't get android. It's good, it's nice, but ... moreAs someone who owns Android phones for a couple of years, you have to completely lack any understanding about technology to get a virus on your phone.

and this is why i don't get android. It's good, it's nice, but there are too many malwares and too insecure.
