Thank You LG! I appreaciate you have intensely worked on updating my G Flex with Lollipop! Freaking kidding me?! Mid-range phones are getting 5.0 and my "not very cheap" LG phone is stuck on shitty Kit-Kat?!?!?!? Shame on you, ol' mighty LG!

Security updates should leave to the OS maker not the OEMs. OEMs should not be messing with the OS too much.

AnonD-202928, 09 Aug 2015If LG can't roll out Android updates on a timely basis but ... moreActually it does make sense. Android version update require LG alteration to match their android skin. Security updates is a direct android fix which can be send to consumers immediately without alteration.

AnonD-202928, 09 Aug 2015If LG can't roll out Android updates on a timely basis but ... moreIt's not like Google owning LG's or Samsung's security department

AnonD-202928, 09 Aug 2015If LG can't roll out Android updates on a timely basis but ... moreUpgrades (updating the version of android) require applying their "skin" on all parts of the new O/S, possibly updating their own apps and testing the stability of the result. This costs time and money which lg may or may not deem worthy spending depending on the device.

Security updates however, require a patch on the current code so they take much less time to make and test before rolling them out.
                  It is definitely possible.

If LG can't roll out Android updates on a timely basis but they can commit to security updates...... it doesn't make sense....

Wow look like LG is acting so free to care about their customers. In reality they dump alot of flagship phone users. Started from G, G2.... So low end LG phone users don't hope there will be security fix. You Are Infected With Virus Everyday
