12 August, 2015
The company posted a tweet saying exactly this, but then for whatever reason decided to delete it.

Very interesting strategy of Google or Lenovo (I don't know which version comes from which company...)
Previous MotoX about same speed with newest one but new model much more expensive.
Nearly expensive as Nexus 6...

I have been waiting for this phone for many month now. Only to get uttery disappointed knowing that motorola dropped the AMOLED display what they were using in the 2014 moto X. WHYYYYY?? I cannot stare 0.3 lm / m2 blacks - I hate LCD. So moto X - bye bye. Back to samsung - which has serious problems, but at least its display has zero lumen blacks.

The first to use leather, the first to use fingerprint scanner, the world first walkie talkie, world first pager, world first commercial cellular phone, the first web browsing and email phone, the first cordless tv, and the first 32bits microprocessor. So, all other smartphone pretty much copied motorola, the ancestor of all smartphone.

It look like LG G4 leather back from the rear view. Everyone is copying LG style of putting the volume button on the rear now. I wonder when LG will start suing them.

If you have the N6, it almost makes sense for you to wait for the new Nexus.
This Moto X might be a downgrade for you apart from the camera.

Seriously considering, since September 3rd is my birthday, but will wait for some reviews first, as my rooted and unlocked white 64 GB Nexus 6 is serving me quite well.
