I just received my Note 5 today, it seems like a big upgrade from my Note 3. That being said the verdict is still out on whether or not I will be missing my Sd Card capability. I am also kind of nervous to have the device before any protection is available for it!

Nevertheless this will be my 3rd Galaxy Note.It will replace the Samsung Galaxy tab S 8.4 which I'm using now. Marcel

Sealed battery that has 3000mA only??? No slot for memory card??? 16mP back camera only?!?!?
I was waiting for much more and wonna change my note 2 for this one. But its not worth it for this money!!!

ruined there rep with me , no memory card slot is the nail in the coffin for me , time to move on from samsung me thinks they r just making shitty iphones with a version of android now adays

Google got the Project Ara for some reasons, one of the reasons is to let customers have the right to know which part of their smartphone is faulty and removable. So Samsung, pls retain the removable battery. Android is about customization, not the Apple way.

What I dont undrstand is the battery. Even if the fast charging will juice it up in 15 min, what if I dont have that time during work? Does samsung listen any more to anyone?

To all the power user and tech savvy people in here.
There was a time when high en mobiles, sold to people like us.
That is no longer the case.
Our kind probably don't make even 1 percent of all note 4 sold.
And among us, a lot of people would see past the shortcomings and focus on what is good.
Sure, samsung will loose market shares, in the coming years.
But that has nothing to do, with not listening to us.
Samsung is loosing the high end segment, since they are not considered a premium brand, like apple (Apple isn't really a premium brand, semi-premium at best, but it's how the general public sees it, that matters).
Asia, and mostly china and india, will make up for huge parts of the whole market share in the future.
Apple is dominating the high end, in China.
Those who cant afford high end devices will be looking for best value devices. Once Samsung was considered to offer great value for money. But Samsung can no longer compete, with the chinese. Not in the mid range, and not in the budget range.
Samsung desperately tries to make the S and note series, cosidered as premium devices. But they forget, that their brand does not match that. And if Samsung ever becomes a premium brand, it will have to loose the other end of the market completely. And they wont become apple. They would be a small premium brand. Not a big market share holder.
What Apple has done, should be impossible. You should not be able to have that much of a market share, and still make users feel like their devices are premium, and worth the cost (especially considering how easily they actually break, and how bad the batterylife is). If Samsung dreams of becoming like Apple, please forget about it, that will never happend.
However, that does not mean, that they should listen to the small fraction of users that are power users and tech savvy people. They (we) wont be able to save you. Your best chance is still with the general buying public.
(I think the best way for samsung to go on, is to create a "Premium" sub brand, that can focus more on premium feel than on offering the most tech. People will for the most part pick a metal back phone over wireless charing, any day, but if you manage to do both, fine. They could still share a lot of components, and production with the normal Samsung brand that focuses more on technology, so it would not increase production costs that much. Samsung already have some nice TVs and nice Laptops, for example, rebranding them wouldnt be a problem, they would get more credability, that way, now they might be disregarded as just samsung products, as in the same category as those dirt cheap samsung products, we also see around).

Because technically a Lamborghini is better than a VW Golf but overall the Golf is better because you can do a lot more with it.
Just like how the Note 5 is technically good but is so restricted now that it's basically become the impractical supercar of the phone world which is all style over substance.

As long as you don't NEED more than 128GB storage (and I dont even need more than 32GB personally). It should be a fantastic phone. Good SOC, good camera, good screen, etc. Find an objectively better phone currently available on the market, pro tip, you cant.

Amazingly Samsung have managed to screw up even further as they're not releasing the Note 5 in Europe until next year.
And of course they're also releasing a dual sim version in Asia that is supposed to have an SD slot but won't be released anywhere else.
