Note4 is already a great device and now its available for much lesser price and it will still be sold more so yes i agree that samsung made this phone only to show that they can also make premium built devices..good job samsung.

AnonD-77443, 14 Aug 2015Ouch... I guess we will wait and see. Even if they do annou... moreI guess the Note 4 really is worth the money than a NotePOINTfive. 128GB Samsung Evo micro SD card now is just $75 and getting lower. I don't care about it being "slow" @ 40mbps.

Tom-Helge, 14 Aug 2015Sorry guys, there wont be a 128 GB version. It was a mistak... moreOuch... I guess we will wait and see. Even if they do announce a 128GB model it will be rare as hens teeth and cost a bomb... It is just a really strange device by Samsung as it gives up 2 major selling points on the iPhone.
(HTC removed the SD card on the One and we're forced to bring it back because of poor sales so there is hope for the GN6)

Sorry guys, there wont be a 128 GB version. It was a mistake on Samsung's part for listing the 128 GB version: http://www.cnet.com/news/samsung-to-galaxy-note-5-s6-edge-buyers-no-128gb-option-for-you/

AnonD-418132, 14 Aug 2015Mmhmm.So, are you also getting the 64GB version or wait for the 128GB version which will probably be $1200? The curved glass which probably added significant cost is so worth it! It'll be awesome and so fast with all that UFS internal memory! Who cares about micro SD card anymore, right? Everything is in cloud now and everyone who can buy this is sure to have money for data lines. Really getting that QWERTY keyboard too for productive work done.

I wud defend Sammy n minus sd card and removable battery. Since1997 iphone has never given ever both, but still a hot cake toy phone. Why are we cribbing its only transition, later everybody will suffice. It's at last a cell not five full movies player. Had 32 gb never filled upall photos, clips, etc still space.Price shud be less than 500$. But we are expected 900$, which is obnoxious. Go for Note 5 32 gb gold than edge as already S6 there.

This again.
This is a tech site, don't confuse your opinions for those of the general buying public.
Since the first mobile was release, not even a fraction of a percent has ever bought a second or replacement battery for their phone. Some phones back in the days included more than one battery.
But people don't buy extra.
You can get a longer lifecycle of your mobile. But people prefer to get new mobiles instead, a bad battery seems like a good motivation.
You can get an instant charge. If you have a separate battery charger. So that would be another extra to buy. Charging in the phone, is higly impractible, as the phone is usually charged over night. Carrying batteries, with exposed connectors, isn't a valid option either, so you would need something to protect your battery as well.
Powerbanks have had a better breakthrough with the general buyin public than replacement batteries ever had.
If a removable battery comes with other downsides, it's today wiser for a company to drop that feature.
Thickness, and over all size, are affected by making the battery removable.
Choice of materials are affected.
NFC and wireless charging, is harder to do. I think one of my phones, has NFC built in to the battery, so if a get a replacement, I will loose that.
It will have to be built in to the battery, or in to the back cover. The back cover, yould then have to be active, with connections to the device.
Although the nes note and galaxies does not have any IP rating, the more sealed the device is, the lesser the risk that moist will penetrate. I'm a bit skeptical about the validity of the IP rating of the S5, the back cover does not feel completely sealed.
MicroSD
Well, since the general public mostly hear about the iPhone. They havent heard about storage expansion.
By loosing it, Samsung could also use a much faster storage. Besides, file managing, is problematic with external memory. Google will solve that by integrating the memory slot with the main storage, but it will still affect performance. And swapping cards will not be possible, not even removing it and reading it in another device. (swapping cards wasnt really possible, if you used it for offline storage of maps or streamed music, even before).
We can sit here and cry all we want.
But high end mobiles are no longer aimed for the tech-savvy people.
High end mobiles are mainstream these days.
The tech buyers only make for a small fraction of the market share.
And many tech buyers have learned to se pass missed features, and welcome the product they get.

A Note phone without a micro-sd is worthless. It is not worth the hard earned cash. We are essentially getting a downgraded phone.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2015Does anyone remember this?
https://youtu.be/4M9UhtTRM1QS5 was not good enough too, in terms of battery (And other hardware and software aspects). That's why people didn't buy it. So instead of improving the weak points, they decided to "fix" the problem by ignoring them and adding eve more weak points, claiming how "premium" it is to have a crippled phone.
Well, guess what? Those who find that tactic reasonable are already Apple zombies and won't be buying a Galaxy.

AnonD-276592, 14 Aug 2015Haters be like: "Samsung copied 128 GB of iPhone"... moreNo, we don't want anything, cause we don't like iPhones and makes no sense to buy an i-clone.
And we won't pay an insane amount of money just because a super-greedy and insane company feels like we should.
I already have an 64GB card which is just enough for me (Which means a 64GB phone will NOT be enough if it doesn't have an sd slot). Now why would i pay huge money for 128GB i don't really need and already have the memory i need?
LOL, Samsung will have an epic fail with their ultra user-agressive policy. They think we are mindless drones who want jewelry and not an actual high-tech device.
