dlads, 17 Aug 2015Over the s5? nah it wasnt mate, really wasnt, unless you wa... morewell... except the battery part the Alpha beats the S5 even in Antutu benchmark results thus Alpha is far superior than the S5. The Alpha has no heating problems either. It runs almost every game smooth without any issues. The Alpha is a good choice by Samsung. Lollipop sucks just because of its RAM management and memory leaks and thus, being equipped with a small battery my Alpha suffers a bit nowadays. Alpha ran Kitkat 4.4.4 like a cakewalk and gave me a screen on time of around 4 hours daily !!

Hope to see my Alpha being updated to Android M with battery life improvements. :)

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2015That is why my next phone will be Nexus and never turn back... moreSure updates are nice to have, but not necessary. Most people don't care about it because phones still work fine without updates.

But Nexus devices are generally always inferior to other flagships in more important, meaningful ways, with the exception of LG's. Theirs are pretty top class.

AnonD-315939, 17 Aug 2015May be the end of 2016. You know, because it is Samsung we ... moreWell, to be honest, all android manufacturers are pretty slow when it comes to updates, often times ending support altogether.

But Samsung actually has the best track record out of all of them still. Can they be better? Sure, but others are worse.

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2015That is why my next phone will be Nexus and never turn back... moreThat's the advantage of having a Nexus device, it's made by google (at least that's what they say), so you can be sure that you'll be the first to get android updates.

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2015LebanonIn some countries, there's no unlimited data plan, so even if you're ready to pay for that, you won't get it. It's said that the technical infrastracture won't be able to handle that while keeping a decent speed for all users.

It's sad to notice that only expensive high-end devices will have access to that update, such a bad strategy for Samsung, it can't compare to microsoft as all Lumia users are served, even those equiped with the cheapest mobiles will get the Windows 10 intalled on their phones.

Who's paying for the backup of data to google drive???

Data cost $10 per GB it's ok for those that pay no tax and those earning 500 or 1000 times what I'm earning but who are we meant to afford the backup ??

Cloud cancelled because it's too expensive.

Stupid idea for anything except miniscule amounts of data.
