I have Windows 7 in 64-bit mode and I installed the Nokia Updater Software. My 5800 doesn't Update. I tried 12 times but always it says the Internet Speed is low.

I am from Chennai , India. Firday Night IST v40 was available for 5800. I upgraded my device.
UI is cool and also i noticed touch performance is slightly improved and overall the navigation is smooth and fast.

I have updated my 5800 but I have a problem. There is no kinetic scrolling at all and also there is a new screen for incoming calls but you cannot answer it unless you unlock the screen manually, the touch screen does not respond. Regarding alarm touch screen is dead, you can only press the red button to snooze and then turn off alarm in the clock menu. Does anybody knows how to fix this? Can I roll back to previous update?

hey i hv checkd my 5800 software using my fon and i got d version 40 availble, im downloading it now. cnt wait how it works! nokia rocks!

Nothing for the USA here... like usual....
I could update to 31.2.101 only.
HOWEVER I updated to the map 3 and that is AWESOME!
It's really impressive compared to the prev. version.
btw. my other comment is deleted? WTH?

I have checked everyday for v40 but it's not available, newest is v31. I think it's because I bought Nokia 5800 Chrome (released November 2009) RM 356 locked to T-mobile UK. Stupid T-mobile why do they have to change the Symbian so much that I can't even get the new updates!
This should be banned. After all, all they put on my phone were T-mob wallpaper, renamed web browser to 'Web n Talk', and T-mob settings. There should be a campaign to stop them doing this...

jigsaw, 17 Jan 2010how did u update ur RM-356 ??? i hav the same type but i ka... moreI couldnt update it either but i waited a couple of days, every day I checked my software updater once a day, at first it was V31 but i a day or so it reported that v40 is available, just wait it out a bit more and you'll get it too, maybe its not available for your region yet. One thing i liked about this update, even though i backed up my data before i did the update just to be safe, it didnt erase my phonebook, calendar entries or anythingfrom my phone memory.Be good!!!

i have seen no where about this change...and my friend who have the same phone...he updated and found nothing happens when shaked....i just wanted to confirm anyone else have this same feature??

is the firmware v40 available in the US yet? it is not available for my 5800 (US version) yet. How can I update it?

i have updated my phone yesterday and found its really awesome....i have found another change that is when i shake my phone it gets lock and unlock...other than automatic keypad change,kinetic scrolling,UI,incoming call screen and ringing alarm screen...

I hv just updated my Nokia 5800 XM with latest firmware v40.0.05 but was very regret cause it doesn't support Asian languages like Chinese.. Only european languages..
Anyone can tell how to add Chinese language support? I can't downgraded it as Nokia Software Updater not permitted downgrade... ;-(

jason, 17 Jan 2010help! i cant update my 5800 even if i change my product codeYou have to turn off your phone after you change the product code,
and restart your PC, then do the update. I used to have that problem
as well...

Finally updated my version 21 firmware to the latest version 40
by changing the product code. Did not find much difference. Just
found some new optional extras. Maybe I'll find something more
interesting things later once I fully explore it...
