Sony's new Z5 series phones actually use a custom 25MP camera sensor

02 September, 2015
Sony has been persistent in using the same 20.7MP sensor for its flagship camera setup since the Xperia Z1. Not any more.

Wait, hold on. Is this good or bad? Cause the way you explained sounds like is bad. So, does the Z5 came with a upgrade and better camera sensor or a downgrade one? Never use 4:3 so I didn't know how Sony really does it. And upon I just tried the camera and realize it. Yes the 4:3 and the 16:9 got the same view while the 16:9 is a wide stretch and the 4:3 is narrow! Damnit Sony!

All this to say that the Z5 will get the same crappy post processing as the Z1-Z4.
Glad I bought the LG G4!
Sony should give that sensor to someone else and let them optimize it. Strange, they know how to optimize their mirrorless cameras but not their phones.
