story after story after story of promises of goodies.....what is true? As an ex-hostage and a mediator and psychotherapist based in Bakersfield, California, I am more than a bit angered with cell phone companies making promises and then not being accurate (nicely phrased). I deserve a good phone and decent service and have certainly put in the hours on both research and talking with tech folks about the foul-ups and screw ups! And that "I'm so sorry about that phrase", I do not accept that as a 'get out of jail free' statement. My reply will never again be that it is ok, because mistakes are not ok!! I instead will always reply with, "How are you going to make it up to me?". In the past there was decent service and no need to get a computer to type to a nothing; phone service actually got service. So, I am now reading and studying, and all I can say is a mildly voiced, "help" please. Which is best really great smart phone using Android (because it has more free apps available) with fantastic camera, a real document workhorse, international capable, waterproof, I WANT IT ALL, and am not into really fancy looks, just want really great functioning and decent battery life with good volume and a screen one can actually see. Doesn't seem like asking too much, because that is what a new device ought to be. So, please tell how to get one in the next couple of days. Am willing to report on it so as to 'earn it'. (can trade hostage tale for fantastic device and will give good rating if I find an item worthy.) Suggestions??? and a simple statement as to what the best is candy or insect, meaning lollipop or butterfly???? dont know much 'bout that, can learn if someone actually states the facts accurately and without biases nor really old information... Note: Always check the date and source of any and everything and ask, "from whom as the source and for whose benefit" and the answers help to put the 'information' and news reporting into proper focus...JM I await suggestions and opportunities...thanx

The company is goi... moreI hope you're wrong because I don't want to see this company go, they make great quality phones even if they tend to be on the pricy side. In fact they were the only company to offer consumers are premium built phone before other companies started too even before Apple.

Only a moron would buy anything HTC now. The company is going bankrupt in a few month and any warranty coverage and software update promise can be invalided during bankruptcy proceeding.
Taiwanese news are reporting the company is secretly force-retiring its R&D department because under Taiwanese labor law company have to report number of lay-offs and pay former employees severance pay.

I believe in rennaisance,and HTC have the knowhow,courage,and balls to change something,especially now,when Peter Chou is back in production.They were huge back in 99,and so many "firsts"till to date,that even apple copy them,they can still turn the tide.Go Phoenyx
