regs, 09 Sep 2015Unless you don't know that 2K is 1080p. 1440p is 2.5K.Try asking DCI if there's a 2.5K they standardized or at least termed

I would rather buy Meizu M2 Note than this $471 phone. M2 Note is way cheaper and have same 1080p IGZO display.

AnonD-424991, 09 Sep 2015Just focus in display quality not only in resolution.Meizu usually have best screen assembly. They also used IGZO that is best IPS LCD TFT to date. But MX5 was using AMOLED. Yet assembly was better than Samsung. Meizu have very much deeper blacks. And you almost don't see screen edges. Only under direct heavy artificial lighting.

Yet personally hope for RGBW JOLED.

thats right higher resolution on small display will give u amazing ppi,but at same time will decrease performance and battery life...720p is good in fact and 1080p is ecellent....how come that people need more ppi....720p and 1080p screen are really good,i have a tv from lg using that aspect and colors and image is amazing....as long as u have a good movie to watch using 1080 p screen.....so i think companies should focus on battery life and performance...once they get excellent performace then we talk about 2k and above.

ps: thats iphone best card...rather than use resolyion they ,make sure to stay close to 300 ppi and provide good display performance.rated betetrn than 1080p sometimes...because of rich colors and good contrast....

That is a solid decision by Meizu - follows similar logic as Apple with their 720p screens and 8MP cameras. At least Meizu doesn't have the audacity to overcharge for it though...

If it has a 3500 mah battery , and about equall battery life time as the Samsung s6 active , and with a less expensive price , i t would be a good phone .

                          smart choice.
only advantage of 2k or 4k display is with VR which is still developing.
so forget future proofing.....2-3 years later mobile devices get outdated.
hence 1080p seems the right choice
exynos 7420 with 1080p and this will give butter smooth performance without excess overheating.

There is logic in his statement: it comes down to whether consumers can perceive a noticeable difference between FHD and QHD in terms of visual experience in day to day usage. A few can, but most can't except in rare circumstances. If that's the case, then QHD is pointless: people may be better off with faster frame rates, especially gamers. But in the next few years (2-3???), the capabilities and prices of CPUs and GPUs that can easily handle QHD will improve enough for QHD to be a common sense solution for even some mid range hardware, with FHD replacing HD for most mid level and even some budget level phones.

It is a smart way to say that they are cutting corners. I mean, since 1080p will be cheaper than QHD anyway, the saving should be passed onto costumers.

Not dissappointed at all. Never really felt the need for a higher resolution than 1080p. I'd rather the hardware be focused on providing a fluid experience than having to push too much pixels all the time.

Good, now bring back the sd and the removable battery. Enough "premium" bullshit. It's really, really time for real premium devices - functional, practical, feature-rich and high performance.

This is Meizu doing it right. The first company to listen to customer complain. We don't need QHD display. FullHD is enough for me. It drain less battery anyway. I would be better if the 1080p display only activate when necessary or needed and keep it at 720p for typical usage. Just like Xperia Z5 4K display, it mostly stays in 1080p all the time and use 4k when necessary.
