My boss bought at least 3 phones for himself and his families. All being unlocked with NO CONTRACT.

My wife's iphone is on contract, and we were very clear from Day 1 the monthly plan includes 500mb of data, and she NEVER went over it.

My wife says she will likely buy another iphone after the contract is up, partly due to the SLEEK design whith the almighty brand doesn't know how to make one! Look at all the touchscreen phones by the almighty brand, any of them being near 13mm? Even Moto can make one with qwerty keypad at 13.7mm.

Give me a touchscreen phone by the almighty brand near 13mm, qwerty or not.

Actually I don't quite understand your argument about the data plan for 5800. R u suggesting users of 5800 don't use data so they aren't vulnerable to data charges?

And why the almighty brand, who is being so almighty in the eyes of some, wasn't able to release any touchscreen (3G) phone b4 the iphone? Why it needed to be the "follower" of iphone in terms of UI?

An iphone with an att contract cost about $299, while an unlocked one cost more. I have own an iphone before and never became fascinated because it is nt an ALL-AROUND smartphone and it is too common so i bought an n95, which i am satisfied and fascinated. Nw i own a nokia 5800. Between an iphone and a nokia smartphone, i would choose the nokia smartphone. So your "guarantee opinion" is wrong because it is a matter of a preference. The iphone in north america is common and available in stores, making it a not so exciting smartphone. Place the n900, htc hd2, se satio, etc.. in stores in the US, I assure there wil b a curiosity amongs the people, leading into a purchase. Lastly, the iphone is just an ipod with a phone.

Uh, to the apple fanboys - iPhone sells because it has become a fashion statement. Its kinda like, you're "in the loop" when you have an iPhone, at least outside the US. But there I actually personally know of a lot of people cursing their iPhone 3G and 3GS and can't wait to get out of contract. They're the people you call non-techie literate, watching the iPhone suddenly give them cellphone bills of over $100-$200 because they dont understand data plans. And you say non-tech literates would choose iPhone.

To the simple user, one would rather go for a Nokia touch screen since it offers simple interface and no hidden charges. It can work and do what you want even without data plans, for those non-techies and all that. The 5800 was designed to take on the iPhone 2G, and to some extent the iPhone 3G and wins hands down. So the the 3GS may have a faster processor than the n97, but in terms of functionality, the n97 wins. The only advantage the iPhone has is better graphics. Just you wait for the n87, absolutely eats the iPhone 3GS in hardware specs. Also, you want better UI? Symbian^2, Symbian^4 and Maemo 6 are slated to be released later this year, and they look awesome.

Iphone fanboys think everyone should use one, but most people in the world use a cellphone just to make calls. Nokia realises that, and that most people can't afford high end phones, and that people like variety. Hence they are always no. 1 in the world

when its reported that nokia is doing well, the iphone boys posts are nowhere to be found here.

LOL! this comment makes my day ((:

Anyway I'm a person who loves touchscreen phone but hate restricted iphone. Nokia simply fails to meet my demand, and I turn to HTC Hero and never wanted to go back ever since.

If you never use android phone before, you don't know what you're missing.. You really should give it a try! (:

[deleted post]so what if n900 offers more out the box. let a non cell phone literate person use both the n900 and the iphone and i can guarantee you that they will choose the iphone even knowing it costs more. how would i know? because i saw it with my own eyes and the n900 is LOADED. all you guys do is bash the iphone and yet it is still a good seller so obviously you are wrong. people don't just give away money in this economy if something ain't good. and just so you don't forget, nokia sells like a TON of different phones while apple have just 3 phones. also no multitouch on a high end "multimedia" phone like the n900 is laughable. goodluck with the ovi store.

                                    Nokia still rocks.

They did have some build problems for a while, but the E66, E71, E72, N97 mini & the regular, along with the N86 have been solid devices.

I just bought an E66, & despite the fact that it's over a year old, the device still rocks. I haven't come across any other device that were this easy to set up right out of the box.

It has classy business like looks, & even S60 3rd OS still is a great OS.

                                    Long live the king!!!

                                        always bragging about your iphones..
I also have an Iphone, and N900..

the point is not all people wants iphone, and some cannot afford it.
thats why there's low range midrange, and high end phones, so people have selections. Not all people are techies, some want as simple as possible. it's a matter of choice. dont act stupid.
