Yeah I think you guys are being stupid this way. You don't judge how good a phone is by its processor and ram. If it were so, all Nokia phones would be identical...

Why all the fuss? it's just overkill that many ram on a phone, I doubt there's a single app which uses that much ram anyway. Unless your opening 20 apps at the same time you should be fine.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2010U wish! nokia is weak man.Don't compare this to Nokia dude, S60 doesn't need the specs of a small pc to run the OS smoothly, everyone knows how much power Winmo needs thus the packaging and it's still slow, I don't know a single person who likes their HTC.

Memory sham wham.....! I think HTC still has managed to pack enough in this sexy powerhouse of a phone. Yeah the memory being "hidden" does seem like a downer..but knowing the asian markets - especially India. I don't think a lot of people are going to make a big deal out it. Jus waiting to get my hands on this baby...

sorry guys but HTC HD2 ONLY has 320 MB of physical RAM plus 128MB reserved for GPU since HD2 lacks a decent graphics processor! The rest locked away by software! (see for urself on wiki)
From that ONLY about 180MB free are available to end user with HTC Sense sucking most of it.
Even Samsung i8910 HD has more end user RAM (up to 195 MB free depending on firmware)
If u want lots of physical real RAM then get Nexus One!

Hmmm, it's hard to figure out which is the worst thing HTC does, hiding RAM, their really poor graphics drivers or their pink tinged cameras.
Cheap, Taiwanese junk, sold at a premium to the WinMo fanbois, you need a degree in computer science just to get them to work properly.

You need to change rom to 2.02(test rom) and radio to 2.06.50.04. You can do it with costum roms!

could then be the same done with xperia. it has 256 mb of ram but only around 200 mb is available to the user. its around the same procentuage as it is with htc hd2. even on the fist omnia is 128 mb of ram and only around 100mb is usable. i guess winmobile reservates an amount of ram or something and that ram could be unlocked but maybe this amount of ram is locked for a reason unknown to us. maybe for some winmobile system files or proceses. bye.

so people actually have to change the entire ROM/OS and void your warrantee just to get an extra 128MB worth of RAM? - NOT worth it.

Well... it's not bad that you can unlock 128MB aditional RAM. Maybe WinMo7 was the reason to "hide" this aditional RAM... who knows.

I was supposed to say C-c-combo breaker but it wasn't posted. Anyway, damn those restrictions.
