I think the catch is most powerful phone "manufactured in India". Till now we had only low or mid range devices manufactured.

iOS still catching up with Android features... still Apple is winner.. :P
In really, these two are competitors and its matter of preference who wants want.. There is no real comparison as they are built on complete different architecture and there are several pros and cons of both...
If you want one design, slave to proprietary, and not so multi tasking, but fluent flow of application and less complicated and lag.. and what they say.. Status Symbol... you choose Apple...
If you want something different with lots of options, robust performance, top hardware, several things to do, customize from head to toe.. lots of multi tasking at a cost of little or more lag, some over heating, and various style and brand to choose from.. you choose Android..
At the end of the day, the winner is decided base on Stats.. Stats tell the truth in economics..

Entering the high end market is not a good idea, all the giant mobile phone manufacturers are losing money due to lack of sales in that sector. Look at HTC, Sony and Samsung . All of them are loosing money and/or losing market share. Where as if they are trying something like oneplus then it might have a shot in Indian market. Because people here still go buy the resolution and Soc rather than the complete flagship experience.

I have an Android, and I can confirm this still works with Windows 95. Just plug it in and do whatever you like.

They should first focus on software part for existing phones. Had Yu Yuphoria for two weeks. Have to send it back due to unusable bugs in the OS. Battery drain, double tap to wake not working, screen waking up after 5-6 seconds on pressing of power button etc..
