I just updated software and the phone stopped working....
only message that i have is system error.I'm confused now ,what to do???

The hardware is superior compared to N97, which is why I chose it over the N97. It's just that I can't stand (like many others who have the phone) that Samsung wasted great hardware with crumby software and a lack of support for promoting the phone. There could be a lot of apps supporting Omnia HD, but no...Whereas N97 and 5800 are the same OS but have a lot more support when it comes to 3rd party apps.
I'm just trying to be as objective as possible and I give Nokia credit for their after sales service, even though I'm not a huge fan of their products the last 2-3 years.

[deleted post]Yeah u are right, Samsung have done nothing but empty promises which try to gain trust from stupid customer to continue support thier products. I cant buy a phone from a company which jz uses mouth & talks fairy tales but no action. They y finally i choose N97 mini instead of Omnia HD. Samsung is way too sucks in customer care compare to Nokia. Only fools will buy phone which doesn't have after sales services like Samsung.

Juz update my N97 mini yesterday. Everything works fine. I found out they fix the bug which is music player lagging & running off-tune when opening up apps & receiving sms. The camera and video mode still have sound when u are in silent mode, this bug should be fix much earlier. Hope have more updates is coming up.

the v30 major update must add sk... moreYou can access skype thru fring or nimbuzz and all your contacts are in there.I dial out skype calls thru either one of these.
I have skype on my n97.I just can't dial out thru it directly.
So why do you think there's a problem?

When your knowledge of smartphones grow, you will see in today's trend that the camera feature is of great importance and its only getting bigger. Its not about sacrificing as you say, but its about choosing phone for its capabilities, not brand. Another company always has a phone that is slightly better so you won't need to sacrifice anything just to stick with your Nokia. And I have the 1st generation N95. :)

Can only agree with "anonymos" a few comments down from this one.
In my experience one of the "worst" phone Nokia has launched recently considering the buck you had to pull up when it first launched back in the summer of 2009.
Slow response switching in-between application/functionalities etc, etc.
Simply it "sucks" big time!

I sold my N97 away due to the cheap casing peeping off, the len got scratches over times & times. No matter how many upgrade Nokia, your phone still need more improvement, pretty sad expensive phone comes along with cheap exterior.

well this firmware has been out for a lil while. i just updated it yesterday but ive only had it for 2 weeks, the new features are nice but it still needs more c:memory because its still lackin in that area
