Symbian^3 OS and a Maemo 6 device coming later this year

I'm gonna be pissed if my nokia n900 isn't able to update to maemo 6 os. Obviously nokia probably will do that on purpose for people to buy another maemo device. Sometimes I wish I could just sue nokia for their stupidity.

Agree with some of the positive comments about symbian
the first time I lookk at the mini n97 running symbian touch os
my impression is the os is boring, but if you really know the beauty of symbian and nokia features like free ovi maps, bluettoth, file system mananye, openess and many firmware update, you will find it interesting
and I don't need to waste my time on site like
www.iPhone-dev.org or android counterpart to hack the phone just to get the basic features(it has no garanty that the hack os won't do harm to your phone)
nokia really know what their users want now and will not lose them again

my 5530 does everything i ask of it pretty much instantly and it only has 434mhz, because symbian doesn't put so much strain on it.

I'v got a 5530 and I think its an awesome little piece of kit, especially for my needs. Symbian does everything I need it to, and it does it well and with ease.

Nothing wrong with my n900. Battery lasting two days. Using btooth for file transter,WIFI for sip call, Camera,playing games,Playing media (video-music) over wifi-upnp (from laptop library) Os is stable not even crashing.
I have no any prob with n900/maemo5.

And the one's with really fast 1GHz processors even ran on Android. You can't even see any symbian with a 1GHz processor! HAHA That is just really lame! BYE Nokia!

one major issue with symbian phones that were annoying is that u never could upgrade your phone (even from 9.1 to 9.2 f.ex!),, now with maemo 6 and symbian 3 & 4 coming i hope older devices would be upgradable just like with windows mobile and iphone,, if n900 is upgradable to maemo 6 and n97 mini to symbian 3 & 4 this would be the best news ever!

This is really exciting news. I was at a nokia training conference yesterday exploring Maemo 5 and the N900. Believe me the Maemo software has so much potential, the abilities it has is far more superior to any other os on the market. The only problem is that i think that maemo 5 seemed too rushed and not stable enough, also the n900 as a piece hardware isnt great. I really hope that Nokia dont make the same mistake with maemo 6, it could easily take over the market if it works smoothly.

mae... moreI hope you are basing your skewed assumptions and hopes only on Nokia because there are some glaring errors in your posts.
The best non touch os is not s40 but SE's A... platform. Symbian will never reach 60 percent in smartphone market share again, not with the many competitive OSs available.

[deleted post]No, people haven't "moved on with android", android is still a tiny OS when it comes to marketdshare, not even with all those phones released the past few years has it come close to Symbian's marketshare ans sales. And no matter how you feel about Symbian the only important thing to Nokia and the rest of the companies is that they make a lot of money from it.

symbian nontouch is the best os for non touch phone
really hope touch symbian os owns the world mobile market share 60-70% after symbian 4

Guy's we need to be patiance, we all know that nokia whas a pain in the ass last year but 2009 whas more of a experimental year in touch devices this year they cant aford to make those silly mistakes anymore, Remember the competition is getting fears with every single pasing day with the coming of big boys like
Iphone 4.G, HTC Supersonic and many more Maemo 6 wil be worth it don't forget Maemo 6 is what nokia is been working on for 5 years in there plan so i'm safing are you?
