Ive had my Nexus one for +4 years, without a case or screen protector. Ive been carless with it, dropped it on concrete, tile and whatever hard surface you can think of and the glass has maintained its integritity and barley has any minor scrathes to show for it.
THe phone is a beast and now that Ive upgraded to the Nexus 5 I still have moments of missing the original.
It was a great phone.

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2010Yeah, as if all other phones (specially iPhone ) is not mad... moreThe Iphone weall know is made in a sweatshop, hence the reason for no insurence coverage because they know some little kid popped it together and it will eventually fall apart. THE IPHONE SUCKS PEOPLE, LIVE WITH IT AND GET OVER IT. HTC/ANDROID FOR LIFE!!!

What a funny video. Of course its probably made in a sweatshop where poor workers have to inhale lead fumes and the like. But thanks for making us feel better for paying £hundreds for your phone :-)

stewe jobs, 09 Feb 2010we want more! we want more!
please please, gsmarena gimme... moreHere is little review for you.., this device is built in spy-ware even call spy-ware with that silly extra micro added near speaker to make it possible to record clear sounds incoming and out going and to send compressed ass data to destination*google&Co, without your notice at all, because they have already your identity, so they will scam you all the time with emails, they will intercept everyday of your life by redirecting you to their adverts and ideas twits and facebook, but all that goes in their google&co profits!
I hope you are satisfied with mini-review lol.

Anonymous, clearly not every Nexus One gets through such testing. In testing, only a few samples are taken, tested and if faults are picked up, then those are amended before the units of the same batch are sold. Imagine how tedious it would be tedious to test all the phones the way those in the videos are. But all the phones produced get through some degree of testing but not as much as the "samples".

every single manufacturer applies these tests. but cell phones that we purchase are only software tested. they cechk if the phone works properly and if so, the phone is packed in box.

i saw some nokia videos a few years back carrying out similar tests to make sure their devices are capable of handling pressure and force.
these tests are done during the R&D stage while looking for the correct materials and design to use during production, they are not carried out on actual products that are distributed to retailers.
i've had some devices from random companies: i started with the v200 from samsung before getting their d500, both great phones. then got the SE k800i followed by k850i, though i was fine with their build quality, they did have some software issues, kept freezing alot. also on the k850i i would get dust under the lens cover. since, i've had the diamond2 and now the Hero, i think am gonna stick with HTC for quite a while before changing my mind. am thinking of getting the htc bravo next, if not then the supersonic. htc offers good hardware and software with no issues, besides they do act quick in addressing any issues with their phones.

I would have thought this would be classed as destructive testing, where a sample amount is taken and tested. I would be surprised if those units are then shipped. (This is certainly the case in semiconductor manufacturing, the field I work in)

Think that every Phone maker does this test on every phone, so what are they showing is an ordinary day at work, at least companys with a name does that, But nothing new, you should sell this phone far much less than the Iphone, half price and then you will begun with a market share, The Iphone fas the WOW factor, Nexus has ....1gz cpu like other phones, big screen like other phones, nothing new, at least the price should be VERY SMALL...

"As you probably guessed, the manufacturing process of the Nexus One is almost completely automated. A human hand barely touches the phone
until it leaves the factory"
Er, did you actually watch the video? The phones were constantly being handled by the workers!
