I think some have missed the point on this phone. They've fixed the only two queries most had on the HERO (tad slow, no flash on the camera). And it will come with Android 2.X as well. The people who will buy it (like me), don't want or need the highest speced phone and can't afford the contacts that they get offered on.

As long as they don't try and price it like a Bravo, N1, or X10 then HTC will sell Legends by the truckload.

        1) The bottom of the phone has too much metal and looks ugly
        2) No Dual SIM ????
        3) No Slider QWERTY ???
        4) No Stylus input ???

        Too many basics are missing

Waz, 09 Feb 2010So it says Jakarta on the display, I can set my time zone o... moreYea, i know that, but what's the point of setting it that way? Too much hassle and AFAIK most modern phones does the setting automatically. Unless of course, you have too many times to play with the phone.
That comment from rafe is so true. I'm Indonesian and they sell the iPhone for like US$ 700 or so. Lucky I'm in love with my X1 :D
Considering the screen size, how big is too big? I know there's an article about it somewhere. I mean, bigger screen equals bigger size and more weight, it will be too big to carry in your pocket, it will cover your entire face if are receiving a call, and would be too big to fit in your palm. I'm Asian, i know.
But... yea, the bevel below the screen is a big waste. They could've made it 3.2 inches anyway.
For me personally, 3 - 3.2 inches is good enough. You don't have to increase screen size to achieve higher resolution. Besides, it eats away your battery. AMOLED and capacitive is a good combination though.

Just my two cents. Cheers ^_^

aphid, 09 Feb 2010I think HTC should have put in a snapdragon processor. Not ony snapdragon but also more Ram they have to push the limits here. as i see it here its not worth upgrading

Why is it needed to make so much "phone" above or below the screen. This place is certainly not needed for the buttons. Please HTC, make your inside electronics smaller, or put a larger screen on it otherwise.

[deleted post]A) Don't be ignorant to others who are entitled to thier own opinion

                    B) He has a point, this design is tried, tired and done before with nothing new and fresh

                    C) If anything, Nokia/Symbian and Sony Ericsson have proved that going beyond 5MP works, just look at the N86 and the Samsung Omnia HD. HTC's cameras are utter tripe, it's best they stick with 3.2mp

                    D) With the exception of the HD2 and upcoming Supersonic, this LOOKS like everyother HTC phone, it's hard to differentiate between the desings of HTC as the taiwanese have run out of ideas on how to design a phone and have done to death the boring tired iphone-like slab design. They ALL look the same.

Finally, people who say ''5mp Camera is enough for a cmaera phone'' are the same people that say ''3.5 inch screen is big enough'' NO, it ISN'T. 4-4.3 inch screens should be the norm for all top-tier class smartphones, for mid-tier, 3.2-.3.5 and for low tier, 2.8-3.0 inches. People pay MORE for what they want at the top, so the designers should really stop being so lazy and differentiate thier designs and range by class, whether it be budget/mid-tier or/upper range. The top end should be a cut above the rest, much like how class of cars are defined, example: BMW 3 series/5 Series/7 series

Nokia is doing this and this is how all of the phone manufacturers should lay it out too.

HTC will NEVER enter jakarta (Indonesia), because they have legal dispute with previously patented china brand (HT Mobile if I'm correct).

It is silly.. Similar name makes HTC cannot enter!!
Poor Indonesian, all you can get is restricted iphone with unbelievable pricing or Nokia mediocre touchscreen!

Yep amoled & capacitive screens are the future of phones but the design is awfull! Besides, 3.2'' is too small for a phone that is coooming soon.
