Nokia and Intel combine Maemo and Moblin into MeeGo

15 February, 2010
Now, how about that - Nokia and Intel shook hands to merge their mobile Linux projects into one. And along came MeeGo. The silly name aside, MeeGo is the blend of Nokia's Maemo and Intel's Moblin...

'MeBadAndroidOS' and be done with that .. we all know that Android versions are available for netbooks and stuff as well .. so keeping it two marketplaces Netbooks and Mobiles!!!!

Do you remember what happened with the Microsoft Windows NT that should be ported to Digital Alpha processors ? It was scraped, of course, because Intel wouldn't stand the competition. Alpha was a brilliant RISC processor at that time... Nice move, next Nokia tablets will be based on... Intel processors :)

For all those of you who say that symbian is tryin to catch up to android. I can bet that you have never used a symbian phone. I have said this before. Android and the iphone for that matter to this day still cannot do half the things my old n95 did. And none of them will ever come close to the n900. Nokia incase you did not know is the leader in the smart phone world. So who is the one who is really playing catch up.

nokia is so far back in the OS/UI game, they're getting all excited about implementing features that the other OS's already have.

it'd be hard keeping up with all these new OS. can manufacturers just make up their mind and improve their software instead of introducing new ones that gets outdated in only a few months?

Hot although is making my new 5530 feel outdated already. Lol in the ad they say " Single tap everywhere in UI " so they know that that is a flaw in their current UI. Then why don't they do something and fix that?

seems that symbian 2 devices won't update to symbian 3 as ever things are with nokia, and thus it won't be so wise to shop a n97 mini as it won't get many software probably next year,,
anyhow great to see hd-out, 4g support and more ram in future nokias,,

well, it doesn't look very modern, but it doesn't look outdated anymore! big progress. besides, it's opensource, so i hope there will not only be great apps running symbian, but a community offering major improvements for any symbian phone! i love the idea not having to buy a "google phone", as i am not a big fan, and not having to miss all the features!

Androit OS is a big challenge to i'Phone OS,
Wimo 7 OS follows i'Phone OS,
                                        Symbian^3 trying to catch Androit,

and want to become a most powerful OS in the present market.
