I meant 617 is new release. I absolutely agree with the numbers you have mentioned - but sometimes numbers isn't everything - eg. iPhone A8 chip.
Logically A53 with 3GB RAM should give best results even with the battery, than applying 3GB RAM on 14nm processor.
We have enough time to test it, and surely the HTC technicians know all the phones will be returned back to warehouse after 30 days trial period. I own HTC M8 and in many aspects camera is very good, though pixel size is less. Now I am waiting to test OIS on A9.

Here's the killer - 2150mah battery. As if HTC's battery life isnt already bad enough, they sneak in an even smaller battery than the Galaxy S4 (another 5in phone which came out 2yrs ago with a 2600mah battery).

$700 off contract for a snapdragon 617? Are you drunk, HTC? This has to be a joke, because the phone is smaller, no boom sound speakers, slow compare to flagships that came out a few years ago...for $700?!?

but, given it using Samsung Amoled Screen, this compensate the fact that it is using low battery.. Amoled is very battery saving, superb view under sunlight.

Shreedhar, 20 Oct 2015Haters gonna hate.. I saw 2 kind of haters: 1. Apple fans ... moreSnap 617 is not old processor?

          1. yeah, but it uses Cortex a57, not Cortex a72.
Snap 620 will use Cortex a72. latest version.

          2. Snap 617 - 28nm die cast processor.
what? this is so 2013 technology.

          Snapdragon is 20nm.
          Samsung made Apple A9 processor = 14nm
          Samsung Exynos 7420 for Note 5 , S6 Edge + = 14nm.

          technology:
          28,22,20,16,14 nanometer.....

          so, 28nm?
          how many generation behind?

Haters gonna hate.. I saw 2 kind of haters:
            1. Apple fans - If you love IPhone for their design, you have a reason to love this. Keep aside the discussion of copying, you are neither Apple or HTC, you are a customer (user). Get the one you like the most.
            2. Other Android fans (Samsung mainly) - I don't see why you guys hating this. Snapdragon 617 is not an old/outdated processor as many argue. It was launched on Sep 25, 2015. And it has its own advantages. I believe it will be like Apple A8 chip. btw SD 617 comes with 64 bit.

I pre-ordered my Phone today. HTC is very confident, if you don't like it you have an option to return in 30 days.

I would any day prefer buying it over Nexus 5X. The pricing is just correct. Loved it!
