But the thing is, if Google want to keep Chrome OS alive, they have to make android apps compatible. In that way, user won't get bored, they can play games from play store + they can get their job done. & if they can make something like Windows continuum, it will become a big hit!

I think that Chrome OS should be integrated with Android, as a bare-bone ROM.

2017. Too early to discuss this. Google always hype up stuff and never make it work at all. Google Glass and Google Ara. Need I say more.

It has server tool kits and has potential to run scalable application (app server)! Android OS has all the ingredients of an OS. Google with its experience managing OEM in making devices....it can easily port an unified OS across devices. So it covers almost all areas in addition to its server technologies (Gmail, Cloud Servers) it has every reason to rationalise the entire ecosystem into a manageable one. Right now they are heavily depending on other ecosystem for everything other than Android environment.

Windows 10 will soon run on Xbox, Windows mobile, and iOT too. Even Windows servers are using same kernel. Google is way behind with it's malware Android OS (from OS maker to OEMs, and carriers). And here they are combining with a browser. What a joke. Give out free internet and selling spyware router. Ran around sniffing data from Wifi while taking pictures with Google Street. Good old Google, collecting data and sell ads.

For me it is the same what will happen with desktop but don't want to see anything changed on smartphones... I don't want death of android please don't do that :(
