They should stop selling mid rangers at the price of a flagship..

Just look at some teardown articles for HTC phones to see what a mess is inside them. Battery is placed between the screen and the motherboard, which is glued and taped all over.

Or just look at their A9 iPhone copycat with a mid-range processor and a minuscule 2100mAh battery and which they sell for 600 euros in Europe, almost the same as an iPhone 6 !

What are they thinking, really ? They should all be fired.

Sad, but not surprising. A9 is just a flop. M9 is not a flop but kinda of underestimated by customers. M9 was hugely criticized by ignorant reviewers, but only know people just beginning to understand how really nice device it is.

Seriously, is it that hard, bring out 3-4 budget phones and cover the sizes from 4.5 inch to 5.2 inches, 2-3 good midrangers from 4.7 to 5.5 and 2 flagships from 5.5 to 5.7, the metal design is good imo, get the specs right and nothing with less than 2gb of ram, nothing less than 720p(rather be superior 1080p panel than 8k resolution), bottom 3.5mm jack, from midrange and up dual front speakers, dont invest in gimmicks and none of that toshiba sensor dual camera bullshit; just get sony sensor and be done with it. Also i can't stress this enough nothing less than 32gb built in storage if you don't want sd slot(for which i don't mind). And two very important things quick updates and grt the frickin price right. Don't try to overprice.

I truly wonders what the CEO & management team, together with their product marketing team were thinking when they came out with A9. The company marketing message calling it a Android iPhone is already stepping on their own feets. Instead of trying to be a game changer or reinforcing a market leader position they once were, they became a 2nd class citizen. No doubt they have the design first and Apple got inspired by it but having this hive to discuss on this wouldn't last or improve situation. Seriously they need to re-plan the whole roadmaps and directions ahead. i hope they will come back strong(er).

No doubt about the quality of HTC. Problem is the marketing strategies of HTC.

'Stops future earning forecasts' sounds like it's looking very grim behind HTC's curtains

The A9 is again a fail as a flagship. It should be in their low end class and prized accordingly. Others are begin their finest jewels to the competition but HTC brings a pebble. Sorry HTC, I'll be going for the diamonds and emeralds others have to offer.

they don't really learn. their prices are very steep, even on their midrangers. if they're running iOS on their devices, people would probably understand.

I had been telling HTC that they should improve and innovate but they still chunk out the 5" or 5.2" phone. The first thing when consumers heard that a new model of top mid range or top of the line is only 5", they will immediately shift to other manufacturer instead no matter how good your spec are. Don't know how the HTC is conducting their R&D. When you are losing money from model to model, it show something is not right at all.

I could never understand this, my HTC m9 i really wouldn't swap it for any device out there, it's way better than all of them, especially rooted.

I don't think they should continue with this phablet and mid ranger business. It's a loss to the company.

Stick with flagships HTC, you do have a following, keep it niche.
