At this rate, in a few years Samsung will buy out this company as it collapses.

Onwards and upwards from here dear friend. Love your work. Look few to seeing what's in store in 2016. Steady the ship. Just ordered my new HTC from the. USA site.

Bring back the HTC One M8 with new cpu, latest Cyanogenmod if you cannot afford custom Android or Get to Pure Android like Motorola is doing.

Don't even improve your rest of specs expect for AMOLED FullHD Display and keep the price around $300 then see how you don't make market if not please kill me.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2015Do you really expect us to read that essay? Get real. What do you care if he wrote a long comment? It is his point of view on HTC flagship development from 2013 onwards, he wrote it as an HTC user. Way more valid than 90% of the comments in this thread, in which people make jokes about HTC closing shop im the future without even having used one of their flagships.
        Get real.

It was nice knowing you HTC, how the times change. The writing has been on the wall for the last few years. They will be bought out, but not until they are worth pennies to the dollar.

This is very sad, HTC used to be my favorite company. I still own an M7 Developer Edition, and i think it was one of the best devices outed in 2013 (still runs like a champ). The M7 revolutionized both the design, and speaker placement of current smartphones. The only downside was the 4 UP camera which is amazing in low light but poor in day light.

In 2014 the HTC M8 was exactly the upgrade i was looking for but i still gave it a try.. It turned out to be a great device! But there still was a lot left to be desired..

And now 2015.. the M9 was a big flop. The toshiba camera sensor is not on par with current Sony sensors, and it also suffers a lot in low light (an area where HTC used to dominate). Front facing speakers are great, screen although not of a 2K resolution is still passable.. The big mistake was using the 810 chip.. i would of prefered an 808 to be completely honest. All in all the M9 is not a worthy upgrade to the M8 because it is essentially the same device with a few minor upgrades..

And now the HTC A9 ahhh.. a mid range device using an underpowered 617 chipset, that can't record 4K? No front facing speakers?, no finger print scanner? .. for $500???($399 is a promotional price) There's no denying that if HTC continues this route it will eventually see it's down fall.. the OnePlus X was just released at $250 with a better chipset, and stunning design. You could essentially get more out of the OnePlus X for exactly half of what the A9 will be worth when it hits the USA.. It's a shame really.. HTC had so much potential to take over the market right after the M7 if they played their cards right and apparently they didn't.. goodbye HTC :(

High price. Thats why losing market. Like HTC A9

sa11oum, 30 Oct 2015Actually the M8 was quite good. One of the best phones of 2014.I didn't really like the design that much (M8's best feature for me was the sound quality on headphones, other that I wasn't too happy with it), but the (overhyped and bad) camera made me sell the phone. Totally not worth the ~800 euros I paid for it, but someone else sure could love that phone. Well, let's hope they will learn this time.

Cont..MP2 not MP8 like s6 but seen is going to change completely change by arrival of mali t880 MP4 in helio X20 which is not having only double cores but according to ARM it is 80% better 40% power efficient than mali t760 and I predict that its performance will be around 170 Gflops and its better than adreno 330 at-least if not adreno 420. I hope that many of you must have understood my point . And remember that even power saving cores of upcoming mobiles are equally stronger as the performance cores of today lol ! and please correct me if I am wrong ?

Future of mobiles is going to be too bright ! Presently all mobiles are using cortex A53 which is having half the perfomance of cortex A15 and the new cortex A72 is having thrice powerful than cortex A15 and double power effitient . That means that cortex A72 is 6 times better than A53 therefore even single core perfomance of 2.5 GHZ A72 is equal to 15 GHZ of A53 and that is going to break all theses octa cores into dust. Imagine if this is the power of 1 core than what quad core in snapdragon 620 and helio X30 can do. And about Gpu department I am sorry guys if you are buying Mt6752 products thinking that it is good for gaming as it is having mali t760 and it is used in s6 than you are wrong as it is only MP2 and technically performance of mali 450 at 700 mhz MP4 is 42 Gflops and mali t760 at 700 mhz MP2 is 47 Gflops and mali t720 at 700 mhz MP4 is 48 Gflops ( used in mt6753 for those people who are thinking that why it is numbered higher by MT ) so there is not much difference in mali 450 MP4 and mali t760
