The only other option is to do "Apple like" - release the same phone twice with minor updates and call it S6s...
I am personally, happier when they actually push the boundaries each year. What you saying is "do not release better phones, because that cause the phone which I have to depreciate" - and I am not sure that is important to anybody else except yourself (maybe other people who already owns current flagships.. like me with S6 edge) ...

I tought Samsung has stoped releasing phones like sheeps release "dirt" on the ground. This is hilarious! But well, i guess that they understood there is no way to stay upfront but keeping on releasing every mounth a new flagship so people can't see the goodies outside the prenesis. I mean, you enter a store and tgere you go. 30 samsung devices and 5 of other devices. Nicely done samesung;).

instead of just butting one thing wait about 2/3 months for the announcement of the successor that may more may not be worth getting instead. Or not impressive and the other one becomes cheaper.
Oh no....2-3 months. ... what has world come to....2-3 months... who would ever wait that long? Oh no its so insane......
Seriously? You are all that bothered by people thinking they might want to wait those 2-3 months for their own personal decision that has no effect on you?
