AnonD-235846, 16 Nov 2015I got an empty Galaxy S6 to lag easily in the store. When I... moreDude, since you are shouting from your hip, let me tell you why people are NOT buying nexuses and buying phones from other brands (mostly Samsung).

Nexus 4 - Poor camera, very very very very poor battery life
Nexus 5 - Average camera, very poor battery life
Nexus 6 - Too large to handle

To top the above deal breakers, there is no SD card slot in all nexus phones. The list does not end here. Did I mention above non-removal battery? And the nexus phones availability is among the worst worldwide. And the prices don't drop with time, while availability keeps getting worser with each passing day.

The above may not be issues for YOU, but that does not mean everyone should be like YOU.

I hope that they fix the fingerprint lock problems. The S6 Edge sometimes refuses to accept fingerprints or the password and can be unlocked only with a Google account generated password.

What About Note 3? Do We Have Any Chance To Get Marshmallow Update Soon?

Nice, Note Edge is on the list too, even though it's a niche device. It'll be my last Samsung though. Limited storage and glass backs made me shift to other brands.

roy10, 16 Nov 2015I don't agree with nexus supporters simply because updates ... moreI got an empty Galaxy S6 to lag easily in the store. When I want to go the same speed as on my nexus 5x the Nexus doesn't drop a beat while the Samsung has rendering issues refreshing to a new screen. I tried this as well with a note 5 and a edge 6+ and when really pushed I noticed the refresh slowing down. Good luck with your bloatware and oh yes, you can have custom launchers and better photo apps any day on a nexus if the stock system doesn't appeal to you. Do some research before telling some poorly judged stories.

roy10, 16 Nov 2015I don't agree with nexus supporters simply because updates ... moreActually I have a Note 5, and I can tell you that the software is still not consistent in terms of speed. Yes the Note has more features than a Nexus, but even with the latest processor its performance is not that great. Ram management is horrible to say the least and there are areas where its very stuttery(youtube) for example. A non-optimized software is a useless one IMO, no matter how many features it has.

roy10, 16 Nov 2015I don't agree with nexus supporters simply because updates ... moreDo a search on stage fright vulnerability. And that is a known one. Who knows what else is out there.
Android OEMs have shown that they do not see security issues to be important. If this was Microsoft, lawsuits would have been filed. But strangely enough, nobody is willing to hold these OEMs accountable for knowingly ship a product with known security vulnerability, and refuse to fix it (despite the fix being available from Google).

Imagine having a PC where you can only get Windows updates from the manufacturer (eg. Acer/Asus) instead of Microsoft. And when Microsoft releases a new Windows or patches in 6 months, Acer/Asus told you to buy their newer PC instead by refusing to update your current one. That is what's going on with Android right now.

Anonymous, 16 Nov 2015Well, there is the matter of camera and phone speed.. You... moreThe current Nexus phones have good enough camera. And for speed, I think most reviewers can agree that the Nexus phones are as fast, if not faster, than the same spec-ed 3rd party phones thanks to the lack of bloatware. Having latest updates in the OS also helps. Besides, even the old Nexus 5 have enough horsepower for most users. Most modern phones in the past year or so are good enough for typical usage. The software is becoming more and more important.

A smartphone is more of a pocket computer nowadays. Software updates, especially security updates, are critical on an always-connected device. If those other Android phones are significantly cheaper than the Nexus, then I can sort of understand the tradeoff. However, I just don't see the point of paying more/a premium over the Nexus (which is what the likes of Samsung/Sony are charging) for a phone that have less support. If I would be paying more than a Nexus, than the phone must be better than a Nexus in all forms. If not, why bother? If I want to spend more money, might as well buy an iPhone.

I don't agree with nexus supporters simply because updates are no longer crucial.a kitkat 4.4.4 smartphone is a very modern smartphone and guaranteed to remain so in the near future. I mean apart from modular control over app permissions what is their to be excited about marshmallow.
furthermore Sammy's kitkat is more functional than nexus's marshmallow with multi window private mode ultra power saving mode studio photo and video editor better camera features with many modes and simply more owesome results, ultra sensitive screen etc. remember it's samsung that shows Google the more intuitive way starting from toggles in notification shed all the way to multiwindow in the future.
and the myth that touchwiz lags is a myth in 2015 just try a galaxy e7 a midranger and tell me about its zero lag experience and then imagine how the top dog feels.
so wether you are on kitkat or lollipop or even marshmallow Sammy's phone is still better than yours in all respect be it design intuitiveness, and features.
