AnonD-442781, 24 Nov 2015I may be wrong, but I figured the problem was the overhead ... morei agree with you. the interpretation of "java instructions" is one of the reason why android (prior to lollipop) slower than ios.
BUT there is another reason why android will always slower than ios.
ios executes UI thread using realtime (or highest) priority. that's why the animations and the responsiveness in ios is better than android.
But in android, UI thread is executed with normal priority. same priority with other threads. That's why android sometimes become laggy.

I wont think apple will move to OLED. They, probably will start using ipsneo from next year.ipsneo is alot better than amoled.

Samsung must be selling them leftovers outdated tech that Apple loves so much. I won't be surprised at all.

Lame iphone finally admit to the superiority of OLED display. LCD is stupid honestly. I rather buy phone with superamoled that is oversaturated but can be read under the sun than useless lcd that have bad viewing angle and not even have a good sun readability. OLED proven to be more power efficient anyway by turning off black color.

And second rate? Lololololol. If second rate means class leading then sure. Amoled is a much more advanced tech with many more advantages.
And um...last I checked adopting nfc for mobile payments is shooting nfc. Limited or not... But you admitted they adopted it while saying they didn't..... Wow.....m

And burn in? Exaggeration. And hahahahaha white balance???? Almost all phones have an improperly calibrated white balance that is blue, green, or yellow. IPhone included. In their natural mode however the galaxies have had some of the closest to accurate there is. Nice try.

And let's not forget that lcds have many issues light bleed, dead pixels, and so forth.
You can keep trying and failing if you like

And yeah that's pretty much how it works, you take your SOC design to the manufacturer, pay them and they manufacture the SOC, cool eh?????

Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series for instance was manufactured using the 28nm HPM process by TSMC, doesn't mean they had a hand in designing the various components such as the Krait core or Adreno GPU though.
