Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica gets Android 2.1, ready for download

Today Samsung released a new firmware update for their I5700 Galaxy Spica. It brings Android 2.1 and all of its goodies to the current phone users, while all new Spica devices will come preinstalled with it...

did anyone get the update ? tried everything...kies, NPS and pc studio 7. nothing worked. why would samsung give nps along with the phone when it doesn't work with it ?

    ummm i dnt thnk tht samsung wuld include th pinch zoom cuz thy could hav included it n thz huge update!

        why dosent ccome any uppgrad for galaxy, ? only for the cheaper spica- I am realy angry on samsung

          Multi-toch but no pinch zoom?! What is multi-touch without pinch zoom? Argh, is it really that difficult? :) What do people think here, will it be available in a later version or with some tweak?

            same n here.... i dont get it, how does samsung expect their galaxy spica to be updated without a relieable pc suite, dnt samsung try this software before publishing it??!!!!... i tried the new pc studio n doesnt want to recognise the fone, i now installed the Kies an it doesnt want to detect the actual phone memory... Now wht T.T,,, i want this update badly but samsung's pc suites dnt help at all...

              Anyone actually updated yet? Kies is only showing my sd card and I can't install nps (dead cd drive) so as of yet there appears to be no way to actually update!

                Kies can't see the phone, PCStudio is saying that device is not supported.

                    pc studio 7 won't identify the phone. using windows 7. is there a fix ? and isn't pc studio 7 meant for symbian ?

                                        you know i checked out HTC's site to see how/why they gave the magic Android 2

                                        i thought it was like a proper planned thing or something but looks like all Androids can upgrade to 2.1

                                        so why is there such fuss?

                                        this is not good Google, please keep consistency and every Android should be equal!
