Samsung says the Galaxy Tab Pro won't ever get Lollipop or Marshmallow

This is one of the main reason i ditched Samsung lack of support for their high end devices, my last Samsung device was a Note 4 sold this due waiting forever for it to be updated to 5.1.1 in the UK, now have a Nexus 6.
The same will happen to all current high end phones and tablets once they replaced ie with the S7, Note 6 ect next year support will be few & far between for 2015 devices it's basically Samsung way to get you to buy the latest & greatest every year by slowly killing support for devices that are a year old or killing support off all together.
If you want regular updates & support then either go with Google Nexus or Apple forget Samsung.

It's funny to re-read the review of this tablet. It was as expensive as an iPad mini when released, but the latter continues to receive regular OS and app updates that at least justifies the initial cost outlay. $hamesung.

I feel sorry for tab pro buyers.. It came out as a sort of "high end tab", but its life was cut short by samsung releasing a slightly more premium tab s very shortly after, which means that early tab pro adopters got screwed. And now, those poor tab pro owners wont even get one android update.. Samsung even had the guts to re-release the tab pro for christmas last year to clear unsold inventories.

While buying tablet last year, I had a dilemma to choose iPad mini 2 or tab pro 8.4. I thought Samsung might update the os at least for year. Now i realise i made a very big mistake by choosing Samsung tablet instead of iPad which is well known for updates.

Typical not even one update.
Android tablets lack customer service.
This is my first and last Samsung tablet purchase, no support, screen is going out after one year.
My Acer Iconia Android tablet at least received one update.
I will be trying an I pod air 2 next, looking forward to customer service at the Apple store if needed.

This is what you get for buying Samsung's flagship tablet.
My Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, also was a flagship tablet, is still on KitKat.
Never going to buy Samsung tablets ever again.

This only adds insult to injury. There was one update I received on my Tab Pro 8.4 and from that point on many of my apps have been crashing regularly. Google Maps. Opera. Inoreader, and more. Yet I can't reverse this update and now I know I won't be able to get out of this Samsung mess. Thank you Samsung for your concern for your customers.

They see no future in UK market anymore. Here's my best guess. They won't be launching Galaxy S7 there next year. Samsung will most probably stop their relationship with UK.

It's obvious that Samsung supports their products. As long as you buy in their main lines (S, Note, Tab S) you're safe. Just *don't * buy into eir secondary lines. That has been true for years.
Besides TabPro is only 2GB of ram. Adding Lollipop and the TW skin on top would had been a disaster. Tablets in this day and age should be minimum 4gb... It was a bad product from the get go. I'm sorry for this who bought it. Ram is the most important commodity to Android/Linux kernel...

I really think that this is not a problem at all.. After all what are significant improvement brought by Lollipop/Marshmallow? ART runtime? It is still buggy and yet to be perfected. 64-bit support? This tab has 32-bit processor so it won't matter. Most if not all of the apps on playstore can run on 4.1 jellybean let alone 4.4 KitKat. As the final nail in the coffin, Samsung's KitKat Touchwiz has even more features than stock Lollipop and Marshmallow combined. Would you rather stick to a fully functional, feature dense albeit older version of the firmware, or the latest android built but with yet to be ironed bug and kinks with little to no advantage apart from the status of Lollipop/Marshmallow? Android users are smart. They don't whine.

Fundamental problem with Samsung. Focus on bashing competitors such as Apple through marketing and then completely disregard their loyal customers - lack of updates. Do they not realise for them to compete and gain market share from Apple at least here in the States, they must focus more on customer service?! No wonder analysts predict them to be out of the smartphone game in the next 5 years.

Samsung model of mobile production are the largest in the world. While Apple's are the smallest in the world. Updating software is the hard thing for Samsung than Apple
