lol, 08 Dec 2015oh so now you know what people need/want now? if you dont l... moreWhen did I say people shouldn't only buy ~5.5" phones? Show me those exact words and when I said it. I go by market trends and the only companies consistently releasing king kong phones are Chinese ones in order to cater to their Asian fanbase, but well known globally established companies aren't releasing them and if they are there's always a smaller standard version that almost always outsells it, again this is the market talking not me. I personally will never buy a 6" phone and currently am satisfied with 5.5", might go 5.7 but that's my absolute limit and even then the phone has to win me over in other areas first before I even consider making such a drastic move.

AnonD-463876, 01 Dec 2015Again you haven't backed up your argument that well, nobody... moreOh and before I forget, I do everything else I need to with my phablet, including using microsoft word and excel, taking pictures and videos, playing games, watching movies, everything you do I do better on my phone due to a larger size. Remember every smartphone and phablet and can do the same tasks, my Z Ultra has excellent call quality!

AnonD-463876, 01 Dec 2015Holy shit 5.5" isn't considered large anymore? It's "tiny"?... moreFact, I don't come from asia, i was born and still live in England and there are lots of people in England using either a large phablet or tablet as a phone, you just don't want to accept it, why waste your time trying to back up your arguements, there is no point. Dwarfism must be spreading if people really believe 5.5" is too big!

AnonD-463876, 01 Dec 2015Again you haven't backed up your argument that well, nobody... moreUseless tablet with wifi support ?????? What the hell are you on about ? My so called tablet which is a phablet has 3g and 4g data which are always on, I can browse the internet 24/7, I also use it as a handy sat nav, what could you honestly see on a small 5.5" screen, you need binoculars! Writing messages is so much better on a large phablet, with a massive virtual keyboard, messaging is a joy. Why defend yourself when it's obvious you've never even handled or used a large phablet, on the other hand i've used every single size phone, a 3.5" Nokia n900 which I still have, a 4.7" LG 4x hd which I also still have but don't use anymore. I know for a fact that anything larger than 6" is the best size and no one looks a fool holding a large device to their head. I think you have really low self esteem if you are afraid to hold a large phone to your head, I do it all the time.

mas39, 30 Nov 2015Also have you forgotten, these are called smartphones, not ... moreAgain you haven't backed up your argument that well, nobody is talking about dumb phones or 4" phones 5-5.5" is more than adequate. Nobody uses their device exclusively for calling anymore we all know that, maybe that's why so many young people today are so damn socially awkward and antisocial or barely able to hold a decent conversation without stuttering or maintaining eye contact/attention, but that still doesn't take away from the simple fact that said device's PRIMARY function is to make calls otherwise you're pretty much carrying around a useless tablet with just wifi support.

mas39, 30 Nov 2015Wondering what world you live in ? hundreds of millions of ... moreHoly shit 5.5" isn't considered large anymore? It's "tiny"?! Because that's what I have been using for a while now and will continue to use for the foreseeable future. I live in the sane world where phones actually resemble phones that you can comfortably store in your front/back pocket or make a CALL with, you remember what those are right?, without looking like a huge idiot that's holding an enormous tablet next to their face. Again big ass godzilla phones may be popular in certain parts of the world like China and India where people like you are compensating for something tiny, like how some "small" Americans used to ride in humongous gas guzzling H1/2 Hummers, eventually people here smartened up and started buying more smaller fuel efficient environmentally friendly cars. I never even seen someone use a 6.4" phone and I live in a city of 7-8 million people lol heck I rarely see a 6"er. And for your information I don't use a tablet anymore because of my 5.5" phablet, which serves me very well both as a calling and media playing device. Tell me what am I missing out on by not getting a 6" device?
I will never get used to a 6"+ because I can barely tolerate the current standard of 5.5 like most sane people here in the states. For me portability and storability reigns supreme as it should be for other people who like taking their phones everywhere with them with ease. As for the S7 I haven't read or heard anything about it's screen size just some internal specs, same for the G5. It doesn't seem like either companies would increase the screen real estate by that much or else why get a Note or a bigger G phone? They know it'll significantly hinder sales and that's something both companies cannot afford to do at the moment, sounds like you're just speculating or going by one or two obscure rumors. The Mi5 for example is 5.2", a nice comfortable size if I say so myself. Other phones will be offered in that range just like how the highest resolution device in the market, the Z5, is offered in a nice comfy 5.5" form factor.

AnonD-463876, 28 Nov 2015Yes I mentioned that in my previous post, it's because back... moreAlso have you forgotten, these are called smartphones, not phones, if you want to use a device just for phoning then get one of those tiny 2" phones from 2 decades ago. We call them smartphones for a reason, I don't care what apple lovers do on their 4" phones, it's so stupid trying to watch a film or play a game on such a small device, in fact it's useless.

AnonD-463876, 28 Nov 2015Yes I mentioned that in my previous post, it's because back... moreWondering what world you live in ? hundreds of millions of people are using large phablets and even tablets as their main phone, who in their right mind would buy 2 devices, one as a phone and the other for entertainment. Maybe you need to widen your horizons and you may find that actually using a 6"+ device is perfect as a phone. I use my 6.4" Sony Z Ultra as a phone and it doesn't feel out of place. In fact after a while you get used to the size, and now I find it small. Just because you want to use a tiny device as a phone doesn't mean anyone else does. Also how do you know 2016 devices are all 5.5" or smaller. The S7 is expected to be 5.7", it's also likely that the G5 will follow likewise. Phones will carry on getting bigger and bigger, and it only makes sense when you consider what you can do on a larger screen. You need to go out and buy a large phablet yourself and you'll change your mind about large devices, trust me you will.

mas39, 28 Nov 2015You are totally wrong, you say the new sweet spot is 5.5" a... moreYes I mentioned that in my previous post, it's because back then there was room for growth, now phone screen size can only get so big. What next, going from 6" to 6.5" then to 7" both of which are in straight up tablet territory? You might as well call such devices smart-tabs and not phones since nobody's dumb enough put a device that big to their head without looking like a damn fool. I wouldn't be surprised if 5.7" is the next standard since it's only .2" difference (which shouldn't be that noticeable in gaming/videos/reading compared to 6" and above) but realistically speaking that's not happening because most primary flagships not named Note are 5.5" and under, even the Note's which practically invented the phablet category never bothered to touch 6" even after a few companies tried it. Majority of the 2016 flagships also indicate that < 5.5" is the current rock solid standard. And well known 6"ers like Nexus 6 decided to go back to 5.7 with the 6P, I wonder why, maybe Google got the hint that not too many people are into behemoth 6" phones outside of a niche market. If gaming/videos and other graphically intensive things is your thing then you might as well get a slim tablet, phones are meant for portability, storability and easy one-handed use, I mean have you ever seen anyone make calls with two hands without the speaker being on cause that's the only way you can handle a big ass device. And all that can be done with satisfaction on smaller devices it simply boils down to personal preference, why do you think Apple is going back to 4" and Sony keep releasing Compact version of their flagships?

mas39, 28 Nov 2015You are totally wrong, you say the new sweet spot is 5.5" a... moreLol screen size standards on phones can only get so big, I wouldn't be surprised if the next sweet spot is 5.7" but I don't see that happening any time soon since the extra .2" won't make a perceivable difference compared to 6"+ (which again people aren't willing to settle for since phones are meant to be portable and easy to carry around, otherwise you might as well get a big tablet if you want a more media rich experience) and even if it does at least it's not a mammoth 6"er or worse 6.4 or 7" like some insecure people here want it to be, that'll happen when hell freezes over or when ISIS decides to stop waging war on the west.

AnonD-463876, 27 Nov 2015You just contradicted yourself, you say 7" is a tablet but ... moreYou are totally wrong, you say the new sweet spot is 5.5" and we all know that it used to be 5" and then it went upto 5.2" and everyone thought it wouldn't get any higher, well it's going to carry on, and soon it will go up to 5.7" and so on.
It is a little awkward when it's in the jeans pocket but that's what you have to accept if you want a nice big screen. Smartphones and phablets exist for several reasons, to fulfill several pastimes such as gaming, watching movies, browsing the internet among others and they can't be done with much satisfaction with anything less than a 5.5" device. The larger the screen the more enjoyment you gain especially when watching a film or browsing the internet.
