I think they should give stock android to P series; may be coming P9 and make it as such that it could really compete . Every year they give something to complain

1080P display instead of Qhd
EMUI

Serious complains in graphics department

This time eventhough they used the latest MALI-T880 but they used 4 cores (MP4) not 8 or 12 cores which would be the case with samsung galaxy s7

I hope they listen to these

Excellent phone. May lack some extra features to challenge the samsung note line (it all depends on screen quality and some additional things like Pen etc)

So Huawei may have produced their best phone ever, but may be slightly behing the note 5.
Sad this latter did loose removable battery

Anonymous, 26 Nov 2015You say 5.5" but are you talking screen or phone body dimen... moreI mean the 5.5" display size, the body size excluded. Yes iPhones are a disaster when it comes to screen-to-body ratio. I mean why is a 5.5" iPhone 6s Plus larger than a 5.7" Note 5??
Anyway, doesn't matter how big or small the bezels are, a phone with a 5.5" display or more and the additional body is an absolutely no-go for me now. Just got fed up with the unhandy Note 2 which I used before.
I my opinion, the maximum should be 5.1" or 5.2" like S6 or Z5.

And 6.4" is uber huge which is why you rarely see phones of that size, I bet that thing doesn't fit unless you're wearing 90's style jeans lol I just can't imagine someone answering a call on a 7" pseudo phone. Face it, 5.5" is the new sweet spot and it isn't gonna get any higher, it's not like back in the day when everyone was okay with 3.5, 4, or 5.2" phones. Heck there are plenty of people who gripe about 5.5" and a lot of them are Apple users mixed in with Android owners that prefer more compact size devices that are very easy to operate one handedly.

The same goes for problems with tight clothing, as the body is the same.

So your comment against it's size, is general against the phablet size, and not specifically the Mate 8.

Huawei over delivered in the screen body ratio, as they have fittet a larger screen in the same size body.

AnonD-352420, 26 Nov 2015Aaaaaand the gfx bench results are out, kirin 950 is betwee... moreThe Mali T880 MP4 GPU in the Mate 8 was able to get a GFXBench 4.0 score of 17FPS for the Manhattan 8 offscreen test and 38FPS for the Tyrannosaurus offscreen test both of which are actually lower than the Apple A9, Samsung Exynos 7420, and the Snapdragon 810. But in 3DMark, the Mate 8 was able to score 18,051 in the Ice Storm Unlimited test besting the iPhone 6 and almost matching the iPhone 6S.
                                      ===========================================================

If we analyze the results above, The Mate 8 has failed to surpass the current flagships alone for 2 out of 3 benchmarks.
But this doesn't mean it has failed Consumers at GPU Performance and gaming experience alone.
Given its Benchmark Ratings, it is equal to SD808 or Apple's A8 performance.
That's not so bad at all given that the current mobile games are still running smoothly on SD808 or A8 GPU-wise.
Perhaps it is bad given that we are paying for something expensive and at the price level of Samsung or Apple's flagships but the GPU did not exceed or not at par with either brands.

                                      My conclusion:
                                      I will still buy it.
Remember that the Mate 6, despite the GPU's performance is lower than the current flagships of the other brands at that time, it was still one of the best phones of its year.
Now that the Mate 8's KHiS 950 has stepped up its ante, I believe the user experience will be greater than that of the Mate 6.
Sure, it's not the best GPU out there but I think it will still get the work done and be able to run videos and 3D gaming smoothly.
The question now is how optimized is its software and UI. Will it be bloated like Samsung's TouchWiz or Meizu's or Xiaomi's MiUI? We'll see soon once it's out and hands on review is available.

By the way 7" is a tablet, anything from 5.5" upto 7" is a phablet.
