The calculation is display area divided by device area =
6^2 * 25.4^2 / (1920/1080+1080/1920) / (157*81) = 0.78
where 6 is the diagonal in inches, 25.4 is mm/inch, 157 is the length and 81 is the width and pixels are assumed to be square.

Looking forward to gsmarenas review of the Mate 8. Its perhaps a little big and heavy and could have had a LED display instead of LCD. But otherwise it looks good. Wonder what endurance rating it scores with that big battery and low res display. Or is it because the Kirin 950 is power hungry?

When ever they do, that dynamic might change mostly if they keep prices low.

Since Huawei will have more to say abt this in early 2016...i hope they seriously consider putting the SD820 0n this beautiful monster of a device. Pure stock Android on this baby will be oh so awesome.

Amazing at 82% screen to body ratio if componded with... moreLove the minimal bezels which gives one of the highest screen to body ratio i have seen in a device lately...love it. As one who always hope for bigger battery...this is right up my alley. Though it seems the Karin 930 sock is plenty capable...putting the QSD820 on this thing will instantly put it as a top contender in 2016. It is a beautiful looking device...hope Huawei makes it available here in the US.

AnonD-463876, 26 Nov 2015One's 5.5 the others 5.7, they're big but not massive like ... moreYes their screens are smaller, but the body is about the same size. In fact the 5,5" iPhone 6+ is TALLER than the 6" Mate 8, and the Mate 8 is only 2mm wider. About the same goes for 5,7" Notes.
Don't compare screen sizes, as some phones (iPhone especially) have much bigger bezels.
Compare the actual body size, as that's the only thing relevant. And the Mate 8 body is the same size as other popular weatern phablets.

This phone is smaller than iPhone 6 Plus or 6s Plus (both 5,5") thanks to one of the highest screen-to-body ratio.

I assume you're talking about GPU side? Because 4x Cortex A72 @ 2,3 GHz will crush 2x Cortex A57 @1,8 GHz. Well, A53 also have higher frequency in Huawei.

Aaaaaand the gfx bench results are out, kirin 950 is between SD 801 and SD 808, thats a huge step from the below sd600 performing koron 935 bit still a big gap to the SD 810 and the 2015 exynos - and they will get their successors soon...
