Bill, 22 Mar 2010To be fair, Android/HTC still suck in Europe. The big boys ... morewhat utter rubbish, HTC have been rolling out some of the top buisness phones in the UK for years, just because some school boy has not heard of them and likes the common run of the mill stuff doesnt mean they are not the best, im out of contract and have been waiting months for the Desire to be released on orange

crazyred1, 23 Mar 2010im uk too which do think is best x10 or desire im stuck bet... moreDesire, definitely!! If the X10 is anything like any other phones SE have released lately (Satio, Aino etc) it'll be full of bugs. Plus it comes with Android 1.6. So it's out of date before it's even released! Fail. The desire has 2.1 which is the latest. Finally the X10 has a TFT screen whilst the desire has an AMOLED which will give you better battery life and image quality.

I was considering the X10 before I heard about the Desire but in my opinion SE are releasing phones with more gimics then actual substance. Harsh I know but a prime example is the Satio...12MP camera, limited apps, it publically got recall due to issues. Vivaz has impressive hardware but can it compete software wise? X10 is a good step in the right direction with a 8MP camera and big screen (no amoled screen) but has dated Android software and has been delayed for months. Don't know what SE are doing. I'm not an SE hater as I currently do have one.
HTC continue with innovation and driving to the next level for customers. Anyone who knows about good phones will know the HTC Desire/Legend (and the Android OS) is the way forward...all networks will be releasing it...does that not tell you anything? Personally I don't want to jump on the iPhone or Blackberry bandwagon as the HTC looks better!
This is just my opinion though, people get different phones as their needs are different. My needs are simple...I don't want to get bored of my phone and im confident HTC will ensure this.

Well placed informan, 23 Mar 2010not sure where you get the 3.6Mbps figure from, but i'm pre... moreI agree that more cities than London now support 7.2MB speeds, just it all started from London and I haven't checked the progress since. 3.6MB speed was standard before 7.2MB was enabled, still a lot of people use mobile BB modems which only support speeds up to 3.6MB as it was the fastest the network could provide at a time in the area. And yes, Vodafone has the fastest 3G proved by the research.
Data limit on non-iphone tariff is really annoying, and some companies are more generous than other. For example O2's fair policy on non i-phone web bolt-on is only around 200MB (Strangely 500MB on PAG, maybe they changed this in Monthly plan as well, but the last time I checked was still 200MB), but I-phone one gives unlimited usage which really looks unlimited (one month my friend used up 3GB of data and did not face extra charges).

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2010T-Mobile in UK has terrible coverage compared to O2 or Voda... morenot sure where you get the 3.6Mbps figure from, but i'm pretty certain that in bigger cities like Manchester have been getting 7.2Mbps for a while now, they had a big promotional push over a year ago fussing about how their speedss are the fastest outside of London.
In any case though, Vodafone is not only the fastest data provider as proven by the O2 survey, but also less congested. Perfect for the Desire when it arrives! I hope they increase their standard data cap of 500Mb for non-iPhones, as it is unfair that iPhones get 1Gb of data while every other handset gets 500Mb.
But that's another story
