In Canada, where I live, a popular online retailer of unlocked cell phones is offering the Z5 Premium at just over $1000 Canadian dollars. This is partly because the Canadian dollar is 25% weaker than the US dollar at the moment but there is no way any phone is worth that much in my opinion.

Too bad that GSMA's polls has never translated into sales for Sony. The Z5 series will be a failure as expected, and the company's 2015 Q4 financial reports will tell the real story.
Let's not forget about how disastrous Sony mobile sales were just last quarter (2015 Q3).
"Sony Mobile revenue is also down by 15% from over a year ago reaching $231 for the quarter. Sony surely remembers Q3 2014's loss of $1.58 billion."

Don't get me wrong, but I really don't think this phone was a needed for now. May be next year but not now. They should have instead focused more on Xperia Z5,like giving more internal storage in base model (64 GB) making the screen brighter and with better contrast and sunlight legibility, increasing battery capacity and timing with better physical endurance, making a little newer and better design, using some other processor instead of Qualcomm 810, like Exynos 7 or even Qualcomm 808. Making the speakers louder while keeping the ergonomics minimum. That would have made a lot more sense. For now, they are just getting closed to their demise.

4k almost available for only 4k content, which you cant differentiate unless you know that you are loading a 4k content. . .too hot for the phone that it will burn you pocket. . .
