Samsung will pay $548 million to Apple, has the right for reimbursement

Both companies have filed a joint case management statement with a US District Court in which Samsung claims to accept "to complete payment to Apple."

Apple use Samsung hardware but they like to sue the crap out of anything and everything. Will never buy any filthy Apple products ever :)

This changed the initial terms of the contract, which Samsung feels voided the agreement, and they stopped paying.

        There is a fine line between protecting patents and engaging in anti-competitive behavior. Sometimes I wonder whether Apple crosses that line in their never ending pursuit to protect their 'rights'. Microsoft has been slapped down a number of times for anti-competitive practices but big companies pay millions to lawyers to help them get away with as much as possible to protect their bottom-line. This is being monopolistic rather than behaving in the true spirit of capitalism it seems to me.

                At this point honestly, all this legal bickering is to save face on both sides, $548 million is chump change for how much Samsung reaped from the alleged infringing devices, and by now, Apple is no longer the player it was in the smartphone market to command billion dollar judgements..

                      Isn't MS also suing Samsung for not paying $100+ million in license fees? Samsung agreed to the fees but stopped after a few payments.
