I also based my platform choice based on where Shenmue 3 comes out. I bought the Xbox One because it wasn't announced at that time. Because of kickstarter though, I will have the PC version, so it kind of solves the problem. Hey, at the very least I won't ever have to worry about a future Sony platform not playing it as a PS4 game. Best case, I will be able to edit in my items from the Shenmue 2 save.

I know is comparing x360 with ps2 but still even if will be ps3 games still is old-gen games.... I played a lot of games on last gen and "older" gen so for me is pointless to play that on xone,ps4 once again... I bought new console to play on 4k TV with amazing details not to play "pixels" once again.. ;)

now bring psx games support. I really like playing them on emulator in windows with controller. may be too much polygons for some new kids. but I love psx and Dreamcast (shenmue, sonic ) games. (note: that's doesn't mean bringing Dreamcast support. just saying)

Would be nice if these games unlocked if you sticked the original PS2 CD/DVD's in the unit.
Also, port all the Burnout games (Burnout 3, Revenge and Domination) as well as NFS Hot Pursuit 2 (which is so much better on PS2 than on PC). I loved them on my PS2, but it's really hard to play on a 42 inch 4K LCD because the image is all blurry despite using component RGB cable instead of SCART. This might convience me into buying a PS4 even...
