well, these benchmarks were run on some special units. In real devices it will not provide such results.

Emulators are one of the few places you can actually see the improvement. Since most apps aren't aimed at the tiny amount of people with the latest chip all it amounts to is future proofing.

Mali T760 showed near linear scaling on Manhattan 3.0 (2 cores- 5.8, 6 cores - 17.0 and 8 cores - 23.7). If T880 is similar then E8890 with 12 cores will also get 48-50fps (as Huawei Mate 8 with 4 cores scores 16.8 fps). Similarly, Manhattan 3.1 will be around 28fps (4 cores - 9.4 fps).
In CPU department, it seems S820 will be probably 10-15% faster in single-core tests while E8890 would have similar lead in multi-core tests.
So I guess, based on information so far, we could call it a TIE.
If there are no power/heating issues with S820 then it will be a very interesting year ahead.

Majority of phones available on European markets is snapdragon. If Sony implements Sn820, Lg and Htc do the same then there will be lots of units with same sOcs. The decisive battle will be in other areas.

Pretty interesting to see it in action. Want to see how the mali-t880 performs too, but both are looking pretty good. I'd have thought with only two high power cores they'd do much better on single core than the exynos, but maybe they're still at it, or maybe it doesn't throttle? Anyway Qualcomm seem to have adjusted their approach and will be interesting to see how it works in reality.

Irrelevant. Nobody complained about SD810 being slow, so SD820 being faster won't matter. What will matter is SD820 drawing less power and actually being able to deliver its advertised performance during prolonged usage, not just in bursty tests.

SD820 is a quad core and samsungs new chipset will be octa core i think so obviously samsungs chipset will hav advantage but even though sd820 is quadcore its the best.

Snap 820 Executive power is not the way I thought so Exynos 8890 will be much better.
