4K resolution in smartphones is imperceptible to the human eye .Just increases power consumption .

AnonD-292864, 17 Dec 2015There is no difference between 400+ ppi and 500-600 ppi.Studies show that from 30cm away people with good sight can tell the difference up to 720 ppi. 1080p for a 5.7 inch screen is almost half of that.

AnonD-81564, 17 Dec 2015Hahaha!!korean company stucks!!!! Yes they are. Only because there is no demands for 4k. Low demand equal to low production. 4k panel supply mostly for tvs. So, no need for 4k yet in smaryphone. Even Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has quiet down now. Nobody praise it anymore.

          Simple question
          Why not both?
I mean why they don't give an option of changing the resolution
          SIMPLE!

AnonD-292864, 17 Dec 2015They should have kept it at Full HD in the first place. They did that with the mid range device.

No point in moving to 4k for what 0.01% would use it for, if that. It would be truly absurd if they bother with 4k at the moment.

4K is needed if we are to get the best from VR as the screen is magnified.
                                Not rocket science.

Just the right thing to do LG.
having a reasonable price on a powerful(battery) device is more important.

I think people are beginning to realize that we've reached the saturation phase in terms of a 5-6" screen clarity. I don't think most people will be using it to study fibrillation in Picasso paintings or microbiology slides...And since the screen is the single component most contingent on battery consumption It would be a better idea to study and improve chipset efficiency and the underlying screen technology (improving LCD sunlight legibility or AMOLED brightness) as well as bringing 1080p to more mid-range handsets. So kudos to samsung and LG on this.

                                        500 - 600ppi is the best.
                                        800ppi make no difference.

instead, we need to have Higher frame rate screen.
which give better smoothness for action.
