Samsung and LG won't be making the leap to 4K displays in 2016

I think people hasn't realize that battery is really important about having smartphone and even Apple seems to recognize the problem and even design a battery that looks so ugly as a alternative for much of apple smartphone. I have a Samsung Note 2 that is awful to use because of battery drainage. Not even a day or not even less than a day without use just sitting there and drains the battery itself. Too much services and bloatware from ATT and maybe Samsung services or bloatware. Since I stop using it from ATT it helps but could not wait to switch to my basic phone the Rugby III and I really love it except for internet use. This Rugby III would last about a week. I charge it on Friday and still have almost full charge about 85 percent charge. That's how long remains charge and I am loving it. I use the internet from Verizon Fios and it is blazing at 50 megs download and upload. Time to think how you use your cellphone and get the battery that would last you for a while.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2015Battery life over a day is overrated. Its convenient sure, ... moreNo, it's not overrated... I had lost many important calls just because the battery of my phone suddenly died, so i always welcome a phone with a big battery life and probably most people do.
The other features like a gigantic resolution for a small screen sure is overrated and most people won't even notice and care.

When natural catastrophes happen or any other unespected situations do you need QHD screen or you need more battery life. Really don't understand how people like phones with battery life that last day or less and you must charge it everyday. Better battery life with 5h of use per day is essential.

lol, 17 Dec 2015Now, is the tiny, tiny difference worth the lost performanc... morePerformance isn't an issue since the phones are more than capable. There is also apps like Samsung's game tuner that lowers resolution.
Battery is valid, but battery life over a day has little value for most people. As most have access to a charger every night. But on the other hand, you could say the same thing for thin phones, or force touch, or screen size. It's clear that manufacturers don't care if the phone lasts any longer than a day, and high spec phones with large batteries don't do that well on the market either (although I do think the galaxy s6 had a battery that was a tad too low, 80+ hours endurance rating is what I would want and is more than enough).

One can see difference up to 2k on an amoled panel.
I conclude by possessing an s6 and s5 (of my friend's).
Going for 4k would be non sense.
And Sony fanboy will be like, lol, Samsung and Lg stuck at 2k..
Going above 2k would be useless for a device less than 6"
On an led panel, 1080p looks enough for 5 inch device.

720 or 1080 is enough for me. I really don't see the point of having 2K or 4K screen resolution on a smartphone.

It seems someone has a brain. FHD or 1080p should be standard and all above is just stupid and useless just like that pressure touch from samsung and apple. Instead they should increase diplay frequency to 120Hz for smoother viewing.
