The fact that you need to update it with features that have long been standard/built-in in other brands is what exposes you as a consumer electronics customer, nothing more.

By approach, you mean charging overprices for features that are standard and built-in in real smartphones for years now? Oh, ok. Typical Apple user. No knowledge of technology.

As an Iphone hater and a nokia fanboy .. i think this upgrade is great :D .. the main reason why i been hating the iphone soo much bcz the os was so dull and the inclusion of multitasking, and the cam ofcourse, but i always loved the app store support and gaming capabilities .. now apple is moving in the right direction, and as a consumer and phones fanatic it all goes in my benefits .. more competition eh ?! i wish nokia would go back to its roots, bring groundbreaking phone like my old n95 8gb .. i own the n900 now its completely awesome but nokia is not supporting the way that it should, it was released half baked, thank god for the open community it made it all up .. im patiently waiting for the new firmware update

Wow, so what's news about this? All these supposedly "new features" should have been there from the start. It's standard in all other true smartphones, which the iPhone isn't, since you have to follow the dictates of only one company for both hardware and software. Pathetic, overhyped and overpriced as usual, only those fanbois willine to pay the Apple Tax would be interested in this "news".

From The earliest low end phones to the latest highend (Flagship) phones, NOKIA has dominated the market with simplicity and User friendliness.. Go do your research and ask questions before posting stupidness.

To prove the insecurity of apple fanboys: When Ashley Towns developed a virus for the iPhone, the same day he received death treats because the fanboys couldn't accept the fact that their device isn't so perfect as Steve Jobs led them to believe. I could never imagine nokia, winmo, SE or any other fanboys being so insecure or brain washed.

hassand, 10 Apr 2010i own an iphone and yes there are parts that i love about i... moreWith that my friend I will not argue with you because that is the absolute truth and that is what I missed w/ more former devices. But then to gain something, you have to lose something as well. It's just a matter of knowing whats more important for you. I couldn't do some things that I used to do when I switched to the iphone, but then I gained to so much more as well, and I think I made a better decision switching. But I don't know why some people get upset over the iphone just because they do things differently. I guess because deep inside they want it, but because they don't want to give up the things they can do now that the iphone won't let them, they get angry.

nav, 10 Apr 2010You are both right and wrong in what you say. I accept that... moreOpera mini has not been rejected. It just hasn't been approved yet. But I'm sure it will come. If not, then I would understand why. It would be like Bill Gates allowing iphones in his house. What they can do though, if ever they reject opera, is to improve safari to match the efficiency of opera mini.

Anonymous, 10 Apr 2010You have to understand Apple's business approach. They do ... moreYou are both right and wrong in what you say. I accept that apple is very stable. I never have got my iphone to crash r slow down anytime. It does wat it promises to do. But why cant steve allow innovative ideas from other developers? For example look at the opera mini. Lookin at the videos of it, it looks promising and stable. But apple won't allow it... Why so? Coz it will steal the spotlight from apple's native browser, safari. But for that reason, why should apple not allow the users get wat they want... They won't even allow competition... They just reject whatever application which is better than their own... Saying them as functionality duplicate... Thats not good stuff from apple...

i own an iphone and yes there are parts that i love about it and there are parts i hate about it. the thing is most other phones are hard to use, there is no easier way than the appstore to install applications on a phone, no folders no files no whatever, you dont even have to put in your credit card number again once you filled it in while creating the itunes account. that is the point of the iphone atm
what apple is trying to do with this release is to include the iphone in this race of high end devices without removing the simplicity. because when the simplicity is gone, im sure most of the apple customers wont be able to do perform any of the actions that they currently can, such as installing apps or transfering audio into the phone. think about the things you need to do just to modify a theme on a jailbroken iphone, i doubt most iphone users dont even know what SSH is.
for me, i hate that simplicity, it removes the control of the user over the device, i cannot even drag and drop audio and video files into the device which as we know was the easiest way to transfer files, we gotta sync the phone with the pc instead. i find all that stuff very annoying and thats why im giving my iphone to my girlfriend and buying an htc.

yeah y all the abuse all phone are good in their own way. i love how my iphone works but also love a the features of my nokia e90 and now also my desire.

whats the point in just saying bad things be contructive.

for instance i feel the google app store isnt very good atm but my desire has some awesome stats to it so its really nice to use.

my iphone has amazing app store but the stats of the phone are a bit lacking (altho it is getting bit old now).

                                        which do i prefer?

eeeerm well both because they are both awesome phones infact i wish i could just have bits from both devices in one phone
