I still prefer the iphone though. I don't do a lot of multitasking on my phone just like the other 50 million iphone users. So we're fine, but thanks for sharing what a wonderful Nokia device you have :)

Anonymous, 09 Apr 2010I believe apple didn't make themself clear, it is actually ... moreNo, Apple made it honestly clear that some apps would run simultaneously, while some will be in suspended animation but will remain open so battery power won't be wasted, like on most of the game apps. Now why would i need a game running in the background while I'm sending an email? If anything, this approach is a brilliant way of conserving battery. The iphone does have farmville apps that keeps growing even after you close it, so there. I wonder how would you think when other phonemakers adopt this energy saving way of multi tasking? Lol.

I am :) I am not saying that you should buy the iphone? No one is forcing you to buy anything. Hey, we love the iphone's ui and we obviously don't care if it come with technology from the Flinstones era ok. Be happy with whatever device you have ok. You don't need to be here. Really :)

As for the phones you listed, the N95 is one of the most popular phones ever and is still selling pretty good. As for the N97, if it was so bad, it wouldn't be the top selling device in Europe.

Two example of models of phone that didn't have problems. I had an N73 and it was a great little phone. The N95, N97, N85, N86 ALL suffered from bugs and poor build quality. That's why people have built up this perception of Nokia.
Rushed releases, poor firmware, poor build quality. The complaints are out there, and numerous.

theese are for me the most important point which should be improved...
i mean divx is nothing new and many samsung devices are supporting it too
i like the iphone but it needs this improvements to satisfy my expectations!

Iphon... more"you would not believe the amount of handsets that go faulty by nokia, sony ericsson, samsung, lg etc. its the same across the board."
How full of crap are you? I had a N73 for 3 years during which time I did construction with it, lost it the snow, accidentally stepped on it, it fell from the second floor during work, etc: and it still worked fine. My best friend who worked with me had a Samsung Omnia for a couple years and it went through pretty much the same abuse (with us even throwing it at each other) and it still worked fine. I bet more iPhones get turned in to be replaced then Nokias or Samsungs.
"i had samsung symbian and was waiting ages for updates to fix things that other phones took for granted"
And how long did you wait for copy & paste or mms or "multitasking" on the iPhone?
Stupid iSheep.

Although symbian has many features but it is not smooth as iphone since it crash many times and has poor UI am saying this because am using it. Android is the way to go-full customizable, many app and has the best UI.

ok, got it, but: I have a first gen iphone (2G) and I don't intend to change it for a 3gs, 'cause I love my iphone (it has a special place among my gadgets - and an incredible history too). I'm very curious to find out what's hot for it with the new 4.0 OS.

Emphasis on "app switching". This is the SAME thing that WP7 will do, except it isn't bright and colorful like OS4. Neither OS has real multitasking, just save-state switching and limited background processing, which only certain apps will be given that permission. And a task manager IS needed, if the people don't manage those apps correctly, they will just be left there depleting the RAM until it's allocated onto another app. No one wants that.

gr, 09 Apr 2010you must be joking... i was using that phone and whenever I... moreSomething must be wrong with your phone, check whether it is a genuine Nokia. In my 5800's Opera mobile, I can run many tabs (with full web pages, not mobile ones) even with other things in background such as GPS or radio or Music player. No lagging and diffidently no crashing. In fact, if you run out of RAM, Symbian does not crash and restart like i think Winmo does. I tried opening many apps together and went up to 16 i think. Then when I opened another one, one app that was currently running shut down automatically to make way for the new one. The did not crash as you said.

I cannot believe the hatred on this one topic alone.
Iphone has without a doubt caused a revolution but this is not escalting towards religious wars with apple fanyboys on one side and the nokia masses on the other.
apple, with the app store made it so easy to change your phone to do what you wanted. although symbian had games and programs out there in the world, apple put them all under one button.
making their current devices better is what this is all about, not trying to start the next revolution. It is going to take something dramatic to shake the mobile world again like apple did, like the n95 did
i have HTC desire and there are some fantastic features that made it worthwhile upgrading from my symbian device. But the apps are not as good due to the memory allocation meaning that all apps are stored on the handset keeping them small (ruining game quality in comparison with iphone apps)
i work in phone store and have seen what all handsets are capable of and wht sells well. also what goes faulty and gets returned.
you would not believe the amount of handsets that go faulty by nokia, sony ericsson, samsung, lg etc. its the same across the board.
bringing out software that completely changes the way a phone works long time after its release date is a great tool. apple doing that and telling you what the changes are is great.
i have had one update to ,y desire firmware and even GSM didn't know the changelog for this. i had samsung symbian and was waiting ages for updates to fix things that other phones took for granted
i will look forward to the full list of changes when the software is released.
quick qu - will it work on an ipod touch?

iphone is the best phone in terms of its simplicity and user friendliness. They are the best in what they do. But the problem s that it doesn't support most of the features that are offered by other brands with high end devices. I wished there would be some good features atleast in this os. But i'm disappointed. Fake multitaskin and wallpapers in homescreen are wat apple had 2 offer to us.... Nothing is innovative from apple nowadays... I'm switching over to htc desire next week. Its up to you iphone users to still belive in apple.... But nothing is going 2 change
